What can I say?
I can't make her stay
When I know that she's so far above
How could she ever love someone like me
She's out of reach

Here in the dark inside the hole in my heart
I'm fighting all of my demons tryna tear me apart
And I'm still not sure what you ever saw in me

No, I'm a, I'm a fallen angel
And no matter where my heart is
There's no way I'll ever
Reach up to heaven
To you

She's so far out of this world
No way I could ever be with her
'Cause I know heaven's your home
That's where angels belong
And it wouldn't be fair
If I keep you down here

Here in the dark inside the hole in my heart
I'm fighting all of my demons tryna tear me apart
And I'm still not sure what you ever saw in me

No, I'm a, I'm a fallen angel
Tryna fly, but I'm not able
And I need you to know
That it's okay to let me go
'Cause no matter where my heart is
There's no way I'll ever
Reach up to heaven
To you

I'm a, I'm a fallen angel
Yeah I'm a, I'm a fallen angel
And I'm still not sure
What you ever saw in me

No, I'm a, I'm a fallen angel
Tryna fly, but I'm not able, so
Just let me go (I'm a, I'm a fallen angel)
'Cause no matter where my heart is
There's no way I'll ever
Reach up to heaven
To you

Pussycat Dolls inpired seems to be the most accurate description not only for Hurricane, but all the other Fuego queens as well. Fierce, sexy, body conscious, loud, and generic.

There is much less scrutiny about slutpop this year by always the same countries. Because they are not a threat.
Because a lot of people genuinely enjoy this???

To my mind referring to something as "slutpop" is inappropriate and insulting. Everything doesn't have to be super serious or neat. It's fun, easy and enjoyable, perfect as a summer or club song. The fact that you don't get it is not their problem. People have different tastes but you don't need to call ugly names...

Hurricane is actually a budget PCD. And I hope you are just saying they are a girlband and not they are similar to the Spice Girls. Because if it's the latter you are referring to, it's a blasphemy. Spice Girls is a god-tier pop girl group and is untouchable.
Honestly, I neither like Hurricane nor the Spice Girls. Hurricane and Spice Girls may sound different, but - no offense - to put it nicely, they sound cheap to me.

Spice Girls and cheap don't tie together. One of the most iconic girl groups of all time. Your favourites could never.
If anything is cheap, TIX's song is one of them

If this song is already cheap, what would songs like San Marino, Cyprus, Greece, Poland etc be? Priceless?

To me 90% of Eurovision-songs are cheap, but that's okay, I won't watch Eurovision to discover new, quality and mature music. Sometimes Eurovision can surprise me (Jamala, Common Linnets, Salvador Sobral), for this year, for example, the songs of Belgium, Italy and Switzerland.

But no, Norway isn't the most creative song I have ever heard, but if you talk about cheap/simple productions there are really a lot other songs (mostly the female popsongs, but also Finland in it's genre) you should mention before Norways entry. And once again: it's okay, a song doesn't have to be a full package of art for you to like it. I can imagine that a simple popsong for me is a great enjoyful tune for someone else. But when we are going to use words as 'cheap', lets try to be a bit more objective here.

Cheap and bland are so overused label, that in most cases it is just a lazy use of a limited vocabulary, I guess.

I don't know if I'm crazy, but if we are talking about cheapness, we talk about production of the song right?
The production in FA is nothing like let's say Belarus 2020, that sounded kinda cheap.

And it is actual funny that noone mentioned so far that Hurricane comes across as a girlband à la Spice Girls or No Angels. Because they sound to me like that. Instead they get overrated by saying it is a great bop.
Actually, I compared them to a Russian girlsband. But that's bop. I do not have any high requirements for them. The main thing is to be cheerful and danceable. xyaay

As it is dated, generic etc.:ROFLMAO:
Actually I read many words as "bland", "dated", "generic" connected to ESC, but "cheap" is actually a word I hardly read here. I criticize those words, but have to admit that I am not flawless myself when it comes to songs that sound like that. I try to avoid those descriptions, but use it too now and then too. Me bad.xblush

Sorry.

You already answered the question yourself.

Contradictory at its finest.

It seems to me that the main idea in Zeus' post is that there are a lot of songs at Eurovision that sound typical for their genre or do not have deep / non-banal lyrics. And that doesn't mean that they are bad and cannot be liked.

I wouldn't call the Eurovision songs (this year, anyway) cheap at all. I would say that some of them are uncomplicated, typical in their genre, but cheap ... what an example to give... hmmm. I will not give specific names. Well, here's some Russian rap about cars, money and girls, written under a two-note music downloaded from the net. xcrazy
