What can I say?
I can't make her stay
When I know that she's so far above
How could she ever love someone like me
She's out of reach

Here in the dark inside the hole in my heart
I'm fighting all of my demons tryna tear me apart
And I'm still not sure what you ever saw in me

No, I'm a, I'm a fallen angel
And no matter where my heart is
There's no way I'll ever
Reach up to heaven
To you

She's so far out of this world
No way I could ever be with her
'Cause I know heaven's your home
That's where angels belong
And it wouldn't be fair
If I keep you down here

Here in the dark inside the hole in my heart
I'm fighting all of my demons tryna tear me apart
And I'm still not sure what you ever saw in me

No, I'm a, I'm a fallen angel
Tryna fly, but I'm not able
And I need you to know
That it's okay to let me go
'Cause no matter where my heart is
There's no way I'll ever
Reach up to heaven
To you

I'm a, I'm a fallen angel
Yeah I'm a, I'm a fallen angel
And I'm still not sure
What you ever saw in me

No, I'm a, I'm a fallen angel
Tryna fly, but I'm not able, so
Just let me go (I'm a, I'm a fallen angel)
'Cause no matter where my heart is
There's no way I'll ever
Reach up to heaven
To you

Well, even though I´m not a big fan of the song, I´m strongly opposed to the comments of A-Lister. He once again sells his personal opinions as an undeniable fact, which I really hate, and is unable to accept others peoples opinions.

To you. Exactly.

Look, nothing you've written here can be said objectively. Everything everyone says is subjective and people love this song whenever you like it or not.
And you've been told dozen of times that we've never heard a song like this never ever before, but you still fail to accept, so I don't know what to say...

That's exactly where you gonna be.

I'm gonna tell a big secret, shh.

You know why? Because it's sincere.

See? Taste and opinions, not proven facts.

And we're here for it.

xcoffeexwave

Wow you really are juvenile, I mean memes and gifs and what-not and you want others to have "constructive responses"? xshrug , like stop projecting so hard... btw if you've never heard a "song like this" before then your musical knowledge must be limited to say the least, but i'm not going to hold that against you xshrug

I'm leaving this Kindergarten now, y'all can love this song all you want but the delusion here is just too much.

Wow. Thanks for your in-depth analysis. We can now totally understand what you mean. How is the melody and composition cheesy? How is this not well-composed, how do you define that? What sound is not contemporary? Why should we feel guilty for liking this? Where does the last part come from?

Stick to that if you can't elaborate on your comparisons and simply throw your superficial impressions around. "It sounds like that because it sounds like that" simply turned into hot air again, another case of "an opinion dressed up as a fact"xshrug

Very much indeed.

How come I need to elaborate on how a song sounds like? Like do you all elaborate on how this song sounds like? You can love it all you want but this discussion is just silly tbh, like I haven't really seen any particularly "deep" analysis on the song by you stans either , yet somehow if someone doesn't share your like for the song or hear what you all apparently hear (but are unable to explain yourselves) they need to write an essay to explain themselves... please...

Didn´t you want to leave this thread??

Yeah, preferably so but people continue to put words in my mouth and coming back with ridiculous answers that I at least should be able to address, when I leave the thread is up to me.

I do however said what I can say about the entry itself, not much to add on that topic.

Because we don't go around and make ridiculous claims such as "This is a 90's boyband song because it is a 90's boyband song"? Lol? And the audacity of you to say we have to feel guilty for liking this  How is the wind up there on your skyscraper built of paper?

No, you instead go around make claims that this is a "contemporary modern masterpiece that is unlike anything we heard before" and that it also "takes such a deep and serious stance on addressing mental illness" ... like ok sure you can hear that, but all I hear is an early 00's boyband ballad that isn't deep at all... but somehow I need to elaborate further because I don't hear the same thing as you guys? ok... sure... so a reference to a certain type of sound and era needs further elaboration but claiming something is a masterpiece unlike anything else is somehow not a wild claim? xshrug

Guilty pleasure is a cute thing, but if someone wants to get insulted by everything (like in this thread) I guess anything can be turned into a "negative remark" xshrug

No, @A-lister , you are constantly implying that this song is FOR A FACT boyband song, dated, cheesy etc.(especially in latest posts). And that we need to feel guilty because we like it? I mean, who are you to say that? You're going around now with posts, but it's exactly you trying to impose your personal feel of the song as a FACT.
And if a singer said that the song is also about mental health, who are you to deny that? Did you compose and write lyrics? I think not.
Guilty pleasure can be a cute thing, but I LOVE this song, and should not feel guilty for loving it, as I feel the singer's meaning of the song being deep and serious.

Apparently when someone disagrees with you you're asking for "deep analysis" but all you can come up with yourself is memes and gifs... ok gurl...

I am stating what I hear when I hear the song, it's not much more complicated than that (although you guys surely read lots into it that hasn't even been stated).

Read my comment about mental illness, it's a serious topic, this song isn't addressing it seriously and it's quite insulting to state it does.

Again as I already answered, a guilty pleasure is a cute thing, I have lots of them, if you read something negative into that wording then you clearly misunderstood my point with it.

Hard to say what's real and what's not in this thread any longer, people's overreaction to someone just stating their opinion on a song shows how bloody serious people are about this entry and it's quite peculiar to see such reactions, haven't really seen it in many other threads where people also state their opinions on songs (good or bad).

No, you are implying that this song is not serios. That's the whole point.

I mean I can't hear anything that isn't there now can I? I can't pretend I hear something that I don't hear? xshrug

And that is personal matter, as I said. So leave each to their own. It can not be guilty pleasure, since it's serious to us. (Or at least me)

Well, apparently I can't state my personal opinion on the song? xshrug

Maybe a reminder to all: This thread isn't a fan thread, we're here to discuss the entry (and Norwegian selection) and it's not like we have to agree or even like the entry, everyone are entitled to their opinion (good or bad or different).

It all started with what I said the song sounds like, which apparently people can't take and now make it a personal thing. Like really?

I already said I respect that people have different taste so what's really the issue here? I'm not going to change my opinion on the song if that's what you think? No need to try to "win me over" and quite frankly this entry is hardly going to win anymore fans if the stans are jumping on those who have other opinions than theirs, it's just going to backfire on the entry itself. Defensive stan behavior usually isn't a good promo for a song...
