I just read back a couple of dozen pages and it's been hilarious.

There are a lot of people asking if it's a joke entry and burns about the song being cheesy, Tix's wings etc.

It's understandable that people are confused. It's not a joke entry, it is consciously cheesy (as all of Tix's music is), but the performance is also cheeky and obviously so with the wings and gold. It's all of it and there's no need to put it in a box, you just get a sense of it. I don't know if this is an aspect of norwegian culture that doesn't translate or if international viewers will get the same sense. It's so bad it's good in a way and we smile at ourselves for liking it. I get the sense that his music is hyperbolic without being judgmental, it's more about embracing a side of yourself. It's a difficult balancing act that he's able to pull off somehow.

One part of this is his background in russe-sanger, which are party songs for the way over the top high school graduation celebration. They're ridiculous songs, but it's also generally accepted that this is a period of life where ridiculous over the top is appropriate.

Tix doesn't make my kind of music, but he makes me smile and it's a guilty pleasure. Btw, he really impressed with his maturity and attitudes in a debate show last night against a newspaper critic that trashed him.

Norway doesn't want to win someone said on youtube. Well, i would add norway doesn't want to go to Finals. What a missed opportunity, wasted spot on someone who most probably won't even qualify because the song is utterly bad and because there are a lot of certain qualifiers and strong names in semi 1.

Norwegians gave us biggest shock in the history of esc.
I advised keiino to apply for denmark or some country with interval selection who hasn't chosen the song with the same monument. That would be such a slap to norway if they win and norway who rejected Monument fail even to qualify. That would be greatest story in the history of esc.

I advised them if not that option to apply for any other country except norway because norway doesn't deserve them. Keiino Is the double winner of whole people across europe and pure Legends. Pure Love and respect to Keiino.

My heart goes to Alexandra, to Fred and to Tom. I hope biggest robbery in the history of esc won't discourage them.

I just watched this interview from January 15th.

That's really a flawed argument, I'm not surprised that the overall winner got more Spotify streams than a non-winning entry. Sure there are probably some exceptions to that rule, but the winner obviously ends up having more exposure and media coverage which comes with the territory of being "the winner" so more people (also outside of the ESC fanbase) will pay attention to that particular song. Still though, if it was only up to the juries, Duncan wouldn't have won either and I try to grasp my head around why people still see them as some sort of musical "professionals" and "geniuses" when their voting patterns so often showcase the opposite

They can be deemed music experts because they have shown time after time that they know what music will work outside Eurovision.

2015: as much as people love to scream about how the juries robbed Italy, Måns got more than 100 million more streams than Il Volo

2016: Dami Im got 7 million more streams than the winner Jamala who got much more public votes

2018: Eleni Foureira got 14 million more streams. Netta was ranked higher in both juries and televote, but it's still proof that being the winner doesn't make you more succesful than the runner-up or give you an automatic boost

And no, Duncan wasn't the juries #1, but they still clearly loved the song and gave it the push it needed to win

I've really liked the Norwegian version and at the beginning the English version has been a huge disappointment for me but actually it has totally grown on my the past days. TIX and the song - no matter in which language it is performed - are just very likable somehow... It's a classic pointer for me.

I was totally team Keiino and I thought they are such a safe go, that I didn't really see the possibility of something else winning (but then, I'm not that much in the bubble as some of you). Imagine my shock when I see some Tix winning it

Having said that, the amount of toxicity going his way is unbelievable and disgusting. I understand that many of us are being let down by the results (I am myself), but that is the decision Norway has made and it should be respected. I feel somewhat bad for him as he is being a victim of crazy Keiino eurofans.

As of song it is not really my cup of tea, but it is somewhat enjoyable to be honest. I saw some comparisons to dated boysbands being drawn and I think there is some solid base for that haha. Tix surely isn't as striking as Keiino, but I think he will be able to find some fans across the Europe. Will that be enough to qualify...
