Re: I owe you guys a big apology. I'm sorry.
So I've been hiding the truth from you guys for quite a while now.
As some of you may know, I initially joined the Waiting List as 'The United Kingdom of Sonetti'. I didn't really think much of NSC. I remember Yoni telling me that I wouldn't last three editions; and he was right. I don't even think I voted in one edition let alone three.
It wasn't until I had more exposure with the NSC community that I decided to take this Waiting List thing seriously. I joined as 'Santa d'Lucia' and was ambitious to join the roster. As editions went past, I realised more and more that NSC is something different and unique. The songs quality and diversity was what made NSC stand out to the rest of the contests along with the great community.
My plans for entering the roster were simple. Join the roster and send you favourite songs that others would admire, too. But I thought that would be too
boring in a contest like NSC.
So 8 months ago I decided to imply rule restrictions to my own entry. 8 months ago I decided that when I join the roster I will no longer be Santa d'Lucia.
So what are these rule restrictions?
These are not set in stone, but to sum it up:
- I'm not allowed to send entries which are on Youtube.
Live performances or automatically generated videos do not count.
On top of that, I will also be trying to avoid sending the same genre twice in the same time period. I'm going to try and be as creative and unique as I can.
Why Aimūlli?
I came up with Aimūlli a few months ago. I would like to give credit to Tinchey. He is the main reason I joined the contest and the community and his way of seeing the contest made me want to try out these rules for myself. I guess I didn't want to treat NSC like any other contest. I want to challenge myself. So thank you so much Luki for making this all possible!
So sad you're leaving now, but at least I got to spend two editions with you.
2 editions in and I've already had some troubles with these rules. I had an entry in mind for quite a few months now and I was planning on sending it to NSC 130 up until last week, when the artists uploaded it to youtube.
Here was what could have been my NSC 130 entry:
Oh well, I guess that's all a part of the challenge.
So I guess it's time to reveal my NSC 130 entry. I decided to send a band from Canberra, my hometown. I thought it would be cool to start this musical journey at home and then broaden my horizons
