Skopje,FYR Macedonia - Today the thrilling three-day festival of Skopje 2010 got its start in FYR Macedonia. Eight of the 14 acts of tonight's semi-final proceeded to the final, to be held on Saturday. A total of 16 candidates will compete for a ticket to the 55th Eurovision Song Contest.
A total of 128 songs were submitted to the broadcaster, MKRTV. Only 28 were chosen to participate in the extravaganza, which peaks on Saturday. The first half of those took the stage today, the other half to follow tomorrow.
But before the competitors could perform, the audience could see the charming twin brothers from the band called Next Time, who represented the country last year in Moscow. But then it's was time for the contestants to show what they've got and the audience to start voting. See the running order below:

Daniel Stojmanovski - Akcija Reakcija - total of 0 points
Darko Ilievski - Lagi - total of 8 points
Nataša Malinkova - Sever I Jug - total of 3 points

After Igor finished, the audience still had 15 minutes to continue voting. After all, they had a 50% say in who will be in the final. Until that time ran out, some of FYR Macedonia former representatives at the Junior Eurovision Song Contests, gave smashing performances of the winning song of the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest - Fairytale - , the Turkish representative that year, Düm Tek Tek and Tose Proeski's 2004 entry, called Life. They ended with the runner-up from 2009, Yohanna's Is It True, Ruslana's winning song from 2004, Wild Dances, and the song who everyone at today's contest wants to follow - Next Time's Neshto Shto Ke Ostane.
But then, it was time for results. The jury voted for all the songs one by one and then the televotes were given. After the nerve breaking voting, it was sure the participants given in bold in the list before, would be the ones to experience even bigger nervousness on Saturday.
