Luxembourg maybe is coming back? Luxembourgian prime-minister and his husband were in Lisbon and gave to Eleni Foureira an award!

Re: LUXEMBOURG 2019

From what I heard from some people, the public interest is quite low due to San Marino's constant failed track and block allies getting more and more powerful. I hope they change their minds with Russia & co. flop this year

Re: LUXEMBOURG 2019

Luxembourg is a strong ally for Belgium and France (dunno about The Netherlands and Germany) Once, I sent a mail (in french) to the entertainment chairman, that was like 1 or 2 years ago and he wasn't showing a strong interest in the contest itself, I don't think he likes it period so he doesn't seem to have any interest of taking part. More like a subjective opinion than anything else.

He obviously talked about the fee and the money but that seemed more like an excuse instead of saying "I don't really like Eurovision". Once I started to talk about crowd funding and things like that he was like "yeah yeah no"

I would love to see Luxembourg there! Maybe they will participate, I really don’t know but I hope so and it makes sense

If there was ever a possibility for them to return, then I hope they would keep singing in French no matter what.

I'd prefer them to remain out of the contest than to sing in English like everyone else to "improve" their chances of success.

non-english is always welcome and preferred, of course, but luxembourgish entries would be even better. luxembourg always sending french (with french performers even) when the population doesn't really use it informally always felt like it was a bit of skating around the rules because french was a favoured language lol. i don't really want luxembourg to come back as france II like they were perceived before. even german entries would be nice and different specially since none of the other germanophone countries do it anymore.

I have never understood how :lu: broadcaster doesn't have money to participate at esc despite fact that country is so developed and has one of the highest standards of living within EU and whole Europe

That's 1 reason, other reason they rather be news channel than entertainment

ikr that's such a BS excuse.
I suppose they are too scared to participate, thinking microscopic countries cannot possibly do good, in the way they used to in the 60s-80s. Nevermind the fact that :lu: would have a solid blocvote as quicker as they come back with guaranteed points from :be::nl: and :fr:.
