LRT is clearly rooting for Donny. That performance set-up was the best I've seen by LRT, they included visual effects and even parts of the music video on-screen.

Donny could bring the trophy home in May! I think he has a real chance.. I love this song so much and the performance is amazing!

is this girl missing out some words?

it seems like she has forgotten some words and just pauses and waits for the next line

This was a Lithuanian song at first. My guesses would be:

1) They wrote new lyrics in English and found it hard to fit it into the melody;
2) They wrote new lyrics in English and have problems remembering them.

Unfortunatly its the 2nd option. Listened to the song in English the moment it was released on loop, and she missed them :(

Why the heck is Ruta in front of Donny? Are Lithuanian crazy?

Hm, I'm quite sure it's not LRT which decides how the show will look like, but artists themselves

It's on the performers to prepare their own show. It just means Donny Montell is prepared better and had some visuals created.

Might be few reasons:

1) not fair voting system - whoever performs first has an advantage, cause voting starts right after the show begins
2) people like Ruta's song more

Or third, might sound funny, but maybe there're people like my aunt, who came in when the voting began, to ask me why there's no Donatas Montvydas in show tonight? Only when I told her that he participates here under the name of "Donny Montell", she realized for whom to vote :D

Okay, all the reasons make sense, but I fear that Lituania is gonna make a huge mistake by not sending him. But we'll see. Maybe they just wanna reserve their votes for the finale :D

Am I the only one who doesn't see anything special in Donny's song?

It's a generic, modern pop song. It's not terrible, but people talking about it actually winning Eurovision are taking the piss.

I'd imagine more like another slim qualification and 17th place. There'll be other acts with the same song to take votes away from him.

While I'm hoping to see Donny win the Lithuanian NF this year, I agree there's nothing special in his song. It's a serviceable, kinda-catchy entry in what I see as a relatively weak NF, which is why I'm supporting him, but it's in no way a Eurovision winner. He'd probably qualify, and if he puts out a great performance in a weak year then top 10 is possible, but 15th-20th seems more likely.

Re: LITHUANIA 2016

Like Emmelie or Måns :?

Not really, no. While neither of those two had songs that were amazing or super-original, they both had something special that gave them the Eurovision win: Emmelie was likeable from first glance, plus her song was more distinguishable. It had some ethnic/fusion elements that weren't done competently by many other songs that year, the melody was simply more interesting, and the song's structure more easily lent itself to memorable staging, with the prominence of the instruments allowing them to stand out on stage as well.

Mans had a song that, while generic, was incredibly catchy, and was performed by a singer with huge amounts of charisma giving a pitch-perfect vocal performance in front of innovative staging.

Donny's trying to get to Eurovision with a run-of-the-mill dance song that, while competent, doesn't stand out in any way, and has nothing in it to attract the same level of fervour as Only Teardrops or Heroes. It may give Lithuania a better result than their previous few years, but it is in no way, shape or form can it be considered on the same level as a Eurovision winner unless some serious, unprecedented levels of bribing go on behind the scenes.

So, according to the calendar of Eurovision.tv, the final of the NF has been moved to 12th March.

Re: LITHUANIA 2016

They got a week ahead when LRT, being the genius planners they are, condensed all the artists who had arrived without songs into one show, instead of splitting them into two like the first group of artists. I thought this was why they only eliminated 2 this week instead of the expected 5, because they had to fill an extra show. So now they're moving the final later? Why? Because f*** you. F*** you is why.
