Donatas Montvydas will participate again
He was 2nd in 2009, and disqualified in 2010 because of release date issue.
Now he said that he will participate in 2011 for sure.

I don't know what to say. His song on ESC was quite nice and it was my favourite Lithuanian entry (still outside of my top10). This year, he had a terrible song in the NF and he didn't won. I have no idea what is he trying to pull this time.

And Milos, don't you think that Donatas looks like Ervin a bit.

Good news, Lithuania confirmed their participation today. Artists can submit their entries until January 3rd.

The NF system was borrowed from their JESC NF. 10 performers qualify to the final. Best 3 will go to the super-final.

Aistė is just too good for Eurovision. She is famous outside Lithuania and Eurovision isn't that contest where she should participate in. Her songs aren't that Eurovision's type. I think it's okey she won't come back.
I hope to see Donatas and Sasha Song as a duet for this year's national final. Whey're preparing a song together so maybe they will take part in the competition this year.

As submissions deadline passed in Lithuania yesterday, several songs applying to participate in the 2011 national selection for Eurovision have become known. It is yet to be seen whether they will be selected by the LRT jury to participate in the televised shows.

The first three songs are:

Gabriele and Donatas - Love is the blessing


Dovydas Mascinskas - Dirty Avenue


Nefertite - 3 norai


It is yet unknown how many songs have been submitted to LRT in order to take part in the Lithuanian selection. As esctoday.com reported back in November, an internal committee will select an undetermined number of entries that will make it to the televised stage of the process.

Meanwhile, several artists have shown interest in representing Lithuania next year in Düsseldorf by submitting songs to LRT. Gabriele Kucinskaite, Donatas Valentelis and Karolis Sliazas have joined forces and have applied together with the song Love is the blessing. The three of them have singing experience in choirs in their respective cities.

Dovydas Mascinskas is known to the Lithuanian public mainly thanks to his participation in the show Lietuvos talentu, where he reached the final. This year, Dovydas will be making his third attempt to qualify for the Lithuanian selection with the blues song Dirty Avenue.

Neferite is a newcomer in the Lithuanian music scene. She hopes to represent her country next year with 3 norai (Three wishes), a song composed by songwriter and lead singer of Amberlife Edgaras Lubys. Amberlife have participated in the Lithuanian selections in 2004, 2006 and 2010.

Gabriele and Donatas's song is really edgy and I really like it. I tend to like modernized take on retro 80's songs, so I like it. The lyrics of the song is WAY FAR from bad. Same thing goes for Neferite's songs.

Dirty Avenue also has a good vibe to it, it feels different and it reminds me of older American songs

I really think that these 3 are strong songs, it all depends on how they do it on stage though

There will be 3 semi-finals. Overall 70 performers applied.
The 1st semi is set on February 5. It's safe to say that the final is scheduled on February 26.

hmm, not bad. Judging from his song Motvydas (aka Donny Montell, yo! ) tries to become Lithuanian Bilan. Not a fond of such songs but it's certainly better than his previous ESC tries
