they tried to enter years ago didnt they, with switzerland? or am i wrong?

will be good to see them, i think it has taken a country like Germany to get them into eurovision, i think a few other countries will return too because it is held in Germany (Like Austria have) such as Italy

they did twice in the 70's but then their was no broadcaster but now they have. So I think their is more change to see them really now

There are rumors that Al Walser is one potential candidate for Liechtenstein in 2011.

Re: LIECHTENSTEIN - Liechtenstein 2011

according to oikotimes

Local newspaper Vaterland of Liechtenstein reported today (sourced by the Liechtenstein state television) that the country will not be eligible in any way to enter the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest. This happens because the application for active membership to the EBU will be discussed after the deadline of the EBU to submit your participation in the 2011 Eurovision edition.

We all know though that the EBU can always make exceptions or extent the deadline which they have done before so anything's possible.

Wasn't this the case last year? :|

Breaking news!

According to Svante Stockselius, Liechtenstein still has the possibility to participate in 2011! Apparently they changed the rules!

Well, I hope they will participate one day. If not in 2011, perhaps in 2012.

Yeah, it would be kinda nice to make its debut on German soil, as German's the official language in the country.

Does someone know why they have been rejected from the ESC ?

Because EBU didn't accept them as new members yet, which I actually found kinda weird, I really thought we'd see them in ESC 2011.

Ladies and gentlemen, we are watching the "Crap-o-handa TV" channel.

Don't pay attention to reports about Kazahstan not joining this year too ;) It's all made up by Russian mafia

They weren't applied by the EBU. And the EBU is something bigger than just Eurovision )))

When countries apply they also have to pay a huge fee, just 1 time but it's a big money. And then annual payments for membership.
Liechtenstein didn't have such money (I think that the 1st fee is the same for everyone but I can be wrong).
Though according to their broadcaster they will apply in August.

Kazakhstan was denied because they didn't fill all documents properly.
