Oh, I see, she's only composer then. ;)

Oh yes, The song "Cake to Bake" suppose the boy is singing in a giant birthday cake disguised in Marie-Antoinette no ? xrofl3

Actually I have Paula Dukure's "Celebration" as one of the best NFs' songs ever not to make it into eurovision and I still mourn over that fact. Its staging was entirely logical if one paid any attention to the lyrics. Things are only silly when they don't make sense.

Latvia is the country of cheese (in terms of music, not acutal chees) so they should own up to it. They made the biggest mistake in 2012 by trying to cover up a gimmick song with a "serious" performance. The same thing happened in 2010....remember when Aisha was surrounded by backup singers who were washing their clothes? It had a "hard knock life" feel to it but then in Oslo they went all "oh, look at us how professional we are"....F that.......

In 2008 they were crazy pirates with incrdibly silly lyrics and they did well, just go all out and do it right.....own your cheese...............

So many good songs! Like last year... I just hope they'll pick right xthink

"Stay" is so 90's-power. LUV IT. Obviously a "Euphoria" attempt, but it kinda works! Would almost be too easy to pick...
"Bučas" is enchanting and cute. May be my favourite atm. I basically enjoyed all the songs in latvian.
Ralfs Eilands and Fox Lima's songs are all right.

And here I thought Malta was the land of cheese?

I do agree on especially Aisha though, they should have just kept the concept of the national selection performance (which fit the song much better and made sense). However, I never really found that song cheesy (perhaps cringe lyrics, but as far as a musical output it wasn't that cheesy at all).

I guess the definition of "cheese" in music differs from person to person, I tend to find something that is forced happy and cliché to be "cheesy"... songs about peace and "shallow inner strength" tend to be cheese overload imo  "It's MYYYYY Time - Peace will come"

If you sing about god's phone being out of range........that's cheezy

It's not cheesy... it's just... well... odd

I think part of the slightly hilarious lyrics we got from Latvia (aswell as other countries) has more to do with being lost in translation and a lack of English comprehension than anything else.

I'm with A-Lister on this. I would call the mister God lyrics odd like he did, weird, absurd, distasteful maybe, even childish. Not cheesy. That's the shine a light bright stuff. English is not my mother tongue though, so perhaps I've got the meaning of the word slightly wrong.

Oh, what a beautiful songs here! 2014 is much better than 2013 in Latvia. IMHO Stay, Just Stop, Here I Am Again.

I dont think a hundred laundry-ladies could have saved Latvia in Oslo (even though I personally liked the original staging) - Aisha's horrible vocals would totally overshadow any attempt of giving the song a "hard-knock-life" feeling...

Fox Lima again?
That would be awesome!

Don't get your hopes up, I was also happy to see the name there but hearing the song it's a complete different act in a complete different style :( I think she's only the songwriter/composer of this one...

I've just listened to the songs and it looks there are many decent songs, just like last year. But then Latvian public picks creepy stuff like "Here we are"... :?

Samanta Tina with Stay is fabulous, has she good live vocals? Will she be able to pull it off?
