After watching a little on the rehearsals, I think it will be a battle between Russia, Ukraine or Sweden to win the contest. But I think the first of the three, can really sweep off the opposition, with after these three being a quite lame contest over all this year.

My guess on how it will end:
1. Russia
2. Ukraine
3. Sweden
4. Georgia
5. Armenia
6. Netherlands
7. Belarus
8. Azerbaijan
9. Israel
10. Belgium
11. Moldova
12. Albania

I think the host country for JESC 2013 has already been decided in advance, it's not determined by whoever wins this JESC 2012 (unlike the traditional ESC).

I finally made it to listen to the songs today - my current ranking: 1. Russia, 2. Azerbaijan, 3. The Netherlands.
But I have to say, that I don´t like as much songs as 2011 or 2010.

Although the UK isn't participating, I'm watching JESC 2012 online.

One gone (Belarus), 11 to go.
Belarus was a bit repetitive, one to be valued more for the dance (especially ballet girl) than the song.


Now it's Sweden. An OK ballad, but I don't think this will have the runaway winning success of Euphoria in this year's adult ESC.

Well Russia's song was slow to start, but it had a lively chorus. Overall a good song with excelelnt dance routine. A much better offering from Russia than Russia's grannies in the adult ESC in May this year.

Now Israel's debut entry.

Well done Israel, I really liked your song; it was an excellent song, with good use of arm movements by the singers. I think Israel or perhaps Russia are the best so far.

Now after the first commercial break it's time for song 7 Albania.

Armenia - a Beatles-esque boy band, including drums and electric guitars. Well performed, but I wasn't that keen on the style of the song; I thought it sounded a bit depressing.
