Sanremo 2021: Vote for YOUR favourite!

Loro non sanno di che parlo
Voi siete sporchi, fra’, di fango
Giallo di siga’ fra le dita
Io con la siga’ camminando
Scusami, ma ci credo tanto
Che posso fare questo salto
Anche se la strada è in salita
Per questo ora mi sto allenando

E buonasera signore e signori
Fuori gli attori
Vi conviene toccarvi i coglioni
Vi conviene stare zitti e buoni
Qui la gente è strana, tipo spacciatori
Troppe notti stavo chiuso fuori
Mo’ li prendo a calci, ‘sti portoni
Sguardo in alto, tipo scalatori

No

Io ho scritto pagine e pagine
Ho visto sale, poi lacrime
Questi uomini in macchina

Tu portami dove sto a galla
Che qui mi manca l’aria
E parla la gente, purtroppo
Parla, non sa di che cosa parla
Tu portami dove sto a galla
Che qui mi manca l’aria
Parla la gente, purtroppo
Parla, non sa di che cazzo parla
Tu portami dove sto a galla

I didn't invent anything. His personal problems were well known and hugely commented becoming a soap opera to my point of viewv
Yes, his personal problems were widely known, but I don't think they played the biggest part on his victory. There have been lots and lots of contestants bearing physical and even mental problems and they didn't get away with it. With Salvador, it was just a case of a simple, quite musical piece being able to reach a whole lot of people.
I don't usually discuss contestants' characters as I'm simply not interested in their private lives and I don't think they have a bearing to what we usually talk about here. In Salvador's case, however, I can understand it up to a point. He behaved despicably after he won and he hasn't changed all that much in later years. He proved to be an ungrateful, narrow minded and yes, basically very stupid man, so I believe he deserves all the hate he may get. Totally fine by me. I myself, who liked and still like the song very much, came to strongly dislike Salvador as a person and consequently I guess, as an artist as well.
Just leave the heart alone. That's below anyone, even of Salvador himself.

I was not talking about his heart or his health problems. As I told you and @a-listener I wish to him a good and long life.
I was talking about all the soap opera created around him and his heart transplant , and I'm not blaming him for this.
To my opinion this soap created the fundamentals for his win because, always to my opinion, didn't deserve at all.

I think the bookies 2 favourites, Italy and France, both rely heavily on their expected fantastic live stage performances! It seems that both are determined to create "moments" on stage, even though being very different from each other musically. Will Malta, Switzerland and the others be able to do the same?

Imo Måneskin has had better songs than Zitti e Buoni. But watching them live I love this.
France is even more dependent on magic created on stage. I love both of these live performances - but none of them made it to my playlists.

I love both songs and think would be deserved winner.
As we all know staging is such an important element and about the other contenders I found Malta s and Switzerland s stagings improper.
On the other hand Iceland and Cyprus have good stagings. Ukraine too.
Personally I don't see anyone coming from the behind lines. But who knows.

Italy and France have been my absolute favorites all along. Not only I adore the songs and the performers, but they make a tremendous first impact. I agree that the bookies are relying on that. The capability of creating a moment.

I am starting to believe in their victory. They have the potential for a massive televote win and they go on second half. If they keep the first place in the odds till the final it will be great leverage to prevent juries from dragging them far too down. I know they won't win the jury vote but with a difference of 100+ points in the televote they can be overall winners.

I would hasten to bet that 99.999% of people who watched and voted had never heard of Lordi. Maybe a big fanbase in their home country or niche heavy metal circles, but an organised vote to 'laugh' sounds very far-fetched.
I sure was one of them. Had never heard of Lordi before in my life, but rushed for the phone in a fever of enthusiasm, lol xD
I don't really think we can compare the two entries. Lordi made a grand show of a mock hard rock piece that was highly accessible, lots of fun and enormously entertaining. This is more like the real thing and as such much more hard to swallow by both the average viewer at home and the ordinary ballad lover juror at work.

Do you want or need the proper translation of Zitti e buoni with Italian phrases and references??? My friend made one, it's definitely not like the English translations circuling around. Makes context and more sense

I would totally okay with them winning but why does nobody talk about we might have two rock bands in the final? I would love to see Finland winning too. Finland is more casual rock who would probably get the votes from those voting for Manga (who came 2nd!). Italy is more for the casual viewer who is interested in a spectacular show, glamour, fashion, hardrock - Italy is really making an impact, probably more than Finland but the question is: will the metalheads amongst the Eurovision audience be the larger group or the casual „I want something new and exciting“ audience?

Even I myself haven’t decided whom I‘m voting for, given both are in the final.

I am actually also a little irritated that Italy is way above in the odds than Finland because Finland is - in my eyes - the more accessible band and would appeal to a wider audience. I myself have both in my top, and am rooting a bit more Italy than Finland. They are more authentic to me and are more energetic and powerful. :)

Finland and Italy are so different genres that nobody with basic knowledge of music genres would compare them.

They appeal to different audience, and Italy has greater appeal to the general audience of all tastes and age, than Finland.

Their song is in the category of We will rock you by Queen, Seven nation army by White Stripes, or Smells like teen spirit by Nirvana.

Finland cannot be categorized like that. Finns are in the category of Limp Bizkit, something that had a niche long time ago and then failed as a genre. The EMO new metal is over.

On the other side, Italy has a rock anthem that my mom loves because it reminds her of her youth, and I like because it reminds me of my youth. And my mom and I are 35 years apart

Personally I like the Finnish song but in this thread, being Italian, I like to talk about Maneskin and the Italian music.
The only question with the Finnish song is the language. In Finnish would have been perfect.
I really really loved Iceland 2019. Still listen to it. To my opinion Italy 2019 and Iceland 2019 have been the best songs of that year.

They are rock but not the same, rock is a diverse genre.

As for why I think people generally like Italy more is because it's more authentic, cooler, contemporary and more mature, where's Finland is kinda a Linkin Park track, it's more angry teenager from early 00's and doesn't come across as original.

I actually like Finland too, but it's not in the same league.
