Buonasera a tutti, I read many comments about "Fai rumore" and I thank all those who expressed their ideas with education and those who appreciate our music and our singer, Diodato. However, I don't understand acrimonious comments or phrases like "This song sucks" or "It's 0 for me." That is ... without even knowing all the songs that will take part in Eurovision Song Contest... ESC is a competition where different peoples dream, have fun and talk together, however I only see a great desire to win.
Italy has chosen its representative and for many Italians "Fai rumore" is a song that breaks down the barriers of incommunicability but is also full of nostalgia, bearer of a heartfelt noise, the noise of those who want to make their soul feel in turmoil. By listening to this song several times, we discover that it belongs to us; it has a part that speaks of us. Do you want to know what we Italians thought when we watched the "Sanremo's Festival"? Gabbani's song was the favorite, I Pinguini Tattici Nucleari had conquered the stage with their energy and we were proud of the great musical variety that we possess and we are proud that our artists have not bowed to the wishes of the modern audience and partygoer. This is the "Sanremo's Festival": different styles and as many different ways of interpreting. As if by magic, the notes and words of "Fai rumore" conquered us and the great humility and simplicity of Diodato conquered us. We are also proud to think that if we can afford to leave a good tea at home, artists like Elodie, Rancore, Tosca etc ... this means that the Italian musical movement is strong! And this is our biggest victory. I respect every music festival, every European and non-European artist but I ask you, be honest, which other singing competition can boast so many different styles and qualities? And in fact, in recent years, we have brought, I make a summary, to ESC modern music (Occidentalis Karma), rap music (Soldi), modern lyric music (Grande amore), social messages (Non mi avete fatto niente) and finally a composition that reflects the method of making Italian music (Fai rumore). However "Fai rumore" is a song not as anchored in the past as you say. If many opened your ears well, you would listen that this song is modern even if it winks at the past; is this not nostalgia after all? Do you know when Italy has failed in recent years? When he lost the tradition and wanted to adapt to the ESC: Emma Marrone and Francesca Michielin. I read about the tastes of a few Eurovision fans who claim to give a single yardstick. Was Sobral's song modern? Yet he won. But ... by all accounts the song was poignant and the poor boy was redeeming himself after being heart-sick... I agree with those who wrote that Italians think only of the "Sanremo's Festival". Our festival has five days of programming and is very popular (although many Italians lie saying "Tsk! Sanremo? What a bore! I won't watch it!"). Why, this was the thought of our record companies and artists, engaging in a competition where people do not understand the Italian language? Only recently our musical movement and our people have given proper attention to the ESC. Our musical movement had never thought of winning a song to send it to the ESC, neither our state, nor Rai, in the past was interested in investing in the event. In fact, the last Eurovision done in Italy was bad in the organization. In our past, therefore, songs that didn't deserve often won and the public complained. The wonderful songs? Second, third or worse... I am sad to think that with all our quality we have only won the ESC twice ... Anyway I have never blindly cheered for our artists, I have always cheered for good music. If there is a better song, which manages to arouse more emotions, why should I say otherwise? At the limit I can say, it is not among my favorites. Last year I suffered a lot from seeing John Lundvik off the podium; "Too late for love" is fantastic. I opened my eyes to the joyful sounds of the "Sunstroke project", I appreciated Nathan Trent, I liked Luca Hanni and I could go on ... I thank the ESC for introducing me to these fantastic artists. In recent years, I have listened to many songs and I regret to see France, UK and Spain no longer being able to impose themselves (large countries with a great musical culture) and I realized that, Lundvik aside, Baltic music prefers the sound more modern and the show that the contents of the tracks. I respect this talent in wanting to compose music that is understandable for everyone, but the identity, the soul of things is lost a little ... There is a way to combine the show with an excellent composition, ABBA have managed to great! I still sing "Waterloo" !!! In Eastern Europe I have seen a varied movement of sounds grow (I add ... great Eugent Bushpepa!). We Italians, apart from some stupid, recognize the value, because you have to mistakenly define "Fai rumore" an "old ballad"? I will support Diodato but I say "Win the best!". If we don't win we don't care ... we like beautiful music, we are proud of ourselves and we are happy to meet great European artists. Thanks to cultural exchange, progress is made and there is an incentive to improve. Sorry for the long message but I expressed the thought of an Italian and I let myself be carried away by my passion for music. Ah ... you also forgive my English, if it should be lacking at some point of the speech. Ciao belli!
