Please keep discussion in this thread specific to Eden Golan and her song, Israel's (potential) participation in Eurovision 2024 and discussions or remarks from other countries and organisations about Israel's participation.

Any further discussion of a political or humanitarian nature not relating to specifically Israel in Eurovision 2024 needs to go into the politics sub-forum. Thank you!

If it were another scenario, this would easily be in the top 5 at Eurovision.

I literally have no idea whether this will make it to the finals or not, but in case it does, I can really see the juries sinking this in the final show.

To be honest, I would have preferred Israel to step out this year. The whole process of rejecting a song, changing the lyrics, and everything has been a mess. But what worries me the most is that despite the safety measures, there will always be a small risk in Malmö, not only to the Israeli delegation and the main singer but also to the people attending the event. Also, the fact that Eden is not even 18 years old makes me think she's being KAN's puppet.

Anyway, this is a song contest, and this song is one of the best this year, close to outstanding in my opinion. I'm personally not going to boycott the entry as other people are doing, but I won't vote for it either.

I'm not going to mix politics with Eurovision, and I'm going to try to evaluate the music as "impartially" as possible.

It's a strong and very striking ballad. Not the best of the year, but with a lot of potential in me. I love how the song starts and grows until the end. As for the lyrics, this wouldn't be political if it weren't for Israel so... a bit of a cliché, but I live with it and I even like the chorus.

:8: points from me.

As for the future, the vote will depend a lot from country to country, the Palestinian cause is not experienced in the same way in all countries. Certain countries (both jury and televoting) will pull this down, but others will be "fair" and in some voters, benefit. I still think it's a completely safe qualification and a top 10/15 result here (it has huge potential live).

....what? If anything, the situation will help this. There is no anti-vote, and absolutely people who will vote for this simply for being pro-Israel, and not for the song. Wouldn't surprise me if that was true for some juries even.

The song itself is mid-table at best IMO, easily beaten by most other ballads this year (certainly by "Grito", "Ramonda" and "Before the party is over").

Also, Eden is 20.

It's qualifying. I've had it as a lock since Israel announced participation

this Year.

Lucky for them (this goes for all youtubers, press and fan sites alike), i will not stoop to their level because if i boycott them i would be doing the same thing as they are. And this goes against my principles. Catch 22.

It's a good song, but unfortunately Israeli participation is very controversial and I feel for Eden.

She's got a guaranteed top 10 at least, but I wouldn't wish go up on stage in that scenario on my worst enemy.

I can understand them. They would lose subscribers no matter how they rank the song, they would always make someone angry.

They have more support with the casual viewership, yes. But not the fandom that watches reaction videos. And those that now unsubscribe will have resubbed by next year.
Even within the fandom I'm seeing it. You just need to look at the comments below some of those channel's most recent videos.

Well, you can easily check with Socialblade if they are losing subscribers or not in the next days/weeks.
