Playing with numbers was a yawnfest, and her voice was annoying as hell. I say 'her' cuz i don't even remember her name. And nobody does. Lost in the dusty pages of Eurovision history.

playing with numbers has always been one of the worst entries in 2015, never got the hype (at least the other why-is-it-hyped entry maria olafs unbroken gave us a memorable mess of performance, this one gave us BLANDNESS)

Aww I remember liking Playing With Numbers quite a bit, but then I was in the RTÉ studio audience when it was picked so maybe I'm a little biased haha.
As for this year..........I'm worried we are going to completely miss the mark and send something awful and cringeworthy, but hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised!

I think Ireland made wise choice by sending her than anybody else.Super proud of Molly and what she is done.

Yeah I remember Nikki Kavanagh was the hot favourite to win that year but she delivered a terrible vocal and our ears were almost bleeding!
Then Molly followed and her performance was really soothing and relaxing.

I even remembered that whole school was talking about her next day.....

I remember hyping and wanting Erika Selin super hard that year. Still would have preferred her but I've come to appreciate playing with numbers, it was a sweet song and didn't deserve the poor placement it got.

Red flags are always appearing when broadcasters and people start comparing the song to previous hits and winners. Hopefully they come out with something genuinely great but im not hopeful. Fingers crossed it isn't like Sunlight. As long as something like Funky Eldrine (uk 2015 flashbacks) doesn't come out to describe it then it wont be a total trainwreck.

Call me a cynic but I've been thinking about RTÉ approaching Thisispopbaby to act as creative director this year and I can't help think this is RTÉ using the gays to get votes again, just as they did in 2018. I have no problem with genuine and meaningful queer representation at the contest, like Conchita or Marija Serifovic or Verka Serduchka, but I have a horrible feeling that this is just queerbaiting and someone in RTÉ just thought "Ok, we need something gay to send to the gay contest so the gays will vote for us". I really hope I'm wrong.

I'm afraid you're right, 2018 was such an obvious example... a straight male singer singing a break-up song and then some random gay dancers added to the mix 1) get that "pink vote" and 2) draw attention away from what was a pretty mediocre song .... I mean the image portrayed on stage and in the video didn't even fit the lyrics because the dancing couple looked more like they were supposed to be in love rather than breaking up... but apart from that mismatch ... it was pretty obvious that they were put there to cater to gay voters, and unfortunately people are generally easily tricked and even buy into such obvious pandering...
