Honestly I think it comes across a little bit as a routine, not to much passion in it....

He can not really sing the song live. The only thing the studio version had going on for it was being well polished (although made übergeneric by it), then now it just sounds bad.

I've just watched the live version. I don't think it's that bad actually, not very good either (he plays it a bit safe), it's just incredibly boring.

I'm just going to give Nicky the benefit of the doubt on his live performance and say that it was only dire because it was in RTÉ's terrible studios. But yeah, I think we'll have to wait til 2017 to qualify for the final. At least RTÉ are realising that they can play with the lights and effects
