I actually just watched the video again myself and I agree: I was too negative at first. I still think "Lipstick" was catchier, and there obviously was more of a gimmick, but this isn't half bad either. It is just that I don't see what that "National Final" was all about, it seems that the outcome was already clear. But objectively and in all fairness, this should probably do reasonably well in Baku.

Waterline may be a better song than lipstick,'lipstick was a good fit for jedward that allowed them to be fun and wild. I will feel sorry for the country that comes 11th in their semi final, since we all know jedwards popularity will get them through undeservingly

so the composer is Westlife's song composer, maybe that makes this song is less-annoying than 'Lipstick' for me,
(quite) like the song but not a fan of Jedward.

After a few times listening to the song, I like "Waterline" more than "Lipstick".

But you just cannot deny the fact that those two... creatures cannot sing. Now, I am sorry if you find them entertaining, I am sorry if you think that this is fresh and cute, but I honestly think that in the history of show business there had never been a band so irritating and obnoxious.
It's like... you know, when you get to chose the class president, right? And you plot a deal to vote for the worst kid in the class, so you could just make fun of the entire thing? That could actually be funny when you're of that certain age, but guys... These clowns are systematically suffocating other Irish acts. If it was ever funny, it is not funny anymore.

Why people keep saying "They can't sing"? Since when they are singers? They are performers, entertainers. There's a difference, you know.

Bookies back X Factor’s Jedward for Ireland Eurovision 2012 win!
February 27th, 2012 by Lisa McGarry.

Bookies have installed Ireland as 7/1 favourites to win this year’s Eurovision following the selection of Jedward to fly the Irish flag at the finals in Azerbaijan this May.

The fearful bookmakers are taking no chances with the Lucan twins after they sparked a chaotic betting frenzy in last year’s Eurovision Final which potentially could have cost Paddy Power several million euro should they have won.

Paddy Power said “The level of support for Jedward last year was totally unprecedented and I believe that “Waterline” is a stronger song so we’re bracing ourselves for what could easily become the most costly Eurovision result ever”

Eurovision 2012 – Winning country
7/1 Ireland
8/1 Norway
12/1 Denmark
14/1 Ukraine
20/1 Iceland
20/1 Germany
20/1 Cyprus
25/1 UK
40/1 Albania
50/1 France
90/1 Georgia
90/1 Latvia
80/1 Hungary
90/1 Switzerland
90/1 Malta
90/1 Israel
66/1 Croatia
80/1 Belarus

The London-based bookmakers think it's still the Nineties and that Ireland has a chance in hell of winning. Just my 2 cents, I might be wrong, but "Waterline" does not strike me at all as a winning song.

Reminds me of Et Cetera which bombed. It's ok performance and will probably make the final but won't be a contender to win imo.

They don´t deserve so many "0" points! I think it´s one of the best songs so far, although I have to admit that I didn´t like them last year! But they absolutely have to work on their vocals, instead they are rather entertainers than singers.

Considering how they sang when they first entered X-Factor, their vocals have improved a lot! they still have a way to go tho xD

I think Jedward are totally unnecessary. I mean, I enjoyed them last year but this year they don't offer anything new. Besides, last year's song was way better.

I would not be surprised if they fail to qualify! I mean, last year at least they were "funny" (although I personally didn't find them funny at all), and people voted them because they were something new, and Lipstick was a song fitting them perfectly (a crappy song for two crappy singers). This year, they have an ok pop song, but this will not be enough to make them do something good... They might stay in the semi, I remember a lot of people saying that they found them very annoying last year and they were wondering how they got into the top 10, so I don't think a lot of people will be willing to vote for them this year!

Eh, this song is an average Swedish cheese, nothing really special. The song (and well Jedward also) are trashy and have almost no value. However Jedward can make it fun and enjoyable... almost like the cheap USA comedy movies...

I don't like this very much. This song is far not as good as Lipstick (and I wasn't fond of that one either) and their show is almost exactly the same. This song is also less suitable for them than Lipstick, considering they are not good singers.
I won't be surprised if they stick in the semi, since I have the feeling that the "Jedward-effect" is expired in Europe.
