Yes, but when there were only 25 countries voting, you actually had time to see the points come in sequence. With 40+ countries voting, it's just a massive blurr and you barely have time to remember to whom the 12 points went when the next country's first seven results come up on the screen. It's infuriatingly fast AND infuriatingly slow. In the Nineties the show hosts actually had time to chat a little with the presenters, make a pause, and repeat the points in both languages. Now it's just an hour-long marathon.

And that is the part that leads to diaspora voting in my opinion.

Maybe, I think there should be proper academic research aimed at diaspora voting in the ESC. I'm sure it already has been actually, but the sources may not be available to the public.
I'm saying that because I know that some of my friends like to support more than one of their favourite entries from the Contest, regardless of diaspora. If it remains one country-per phone number I don't think it affects the result that much? The real problem is people voting 10 times for the same entry.

Yeah, there are quite a few from JSTOR, AnthroSource and Project Muse. The ones that I read were written by a Belgian, Bosnian, Ukranian and Israeli professors.

1. Live orchestra.
2. Voting system TOTALLY revise, that means:
a) in FINAL only the countries who reached the final should vote;
b) To read all the votes (not only 8, 10, 12), instead of the hosts to
"blahblahblah" with spokeperson from EVERY country and vice
versa ("oh it was a great show tonight, blah blah, we are excited
to watch it here, you did a wonderful spectacle") and na na na
na....all of them always say the SAME! That should be taken out!
ESC isn't a talk show;
c) EVERY country should have 50+50 (50% of decision - televoting
and 50 % jury).

I think the semi final countries should be announced they way it is done now, although they should all be first

Example:
Non-Qualifiers go first giving the results out but 1-7 automatically 8,10, 12 are announced (Just as now)

Then the 26 Finalists have the performance running order and they announce the full results (as before)
