Happy to see this chosen! In an ideal world we would've gotten both Iva and Dimma at Eurovision as well (instead of some of the many flavours of midtempo pop ballad we're being served up elsewhere) but this was probably my slight favourite here, and it's nice to finally have another NF go my way.

Somewhere between 8 and 10 at the moment, but I'm in a good mood right now so I'll chuck it a once the poll comes up.

The Icelandic national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, Söngvakeppnin 2020 Final is all over. The winner was Daði & Gagnamagnið - "Think About Things". I'm mostly glad that won over DIMMA - "Almyrkvi", as I hate heavy rock like "Almyrkvi" (however on this occasion I thought perhaps "Almyrkvi" might posssibly be a better choice as it's livelier than "Think About Things". Personally I'd rather Iva - "Oculis videre" had reached the Super Final and won outright, as Iva was really talented to be able to sing high pitched, and I thought "Oculis videre" was the best song of the night. I'm not surprised Daði & Gagnamagnið - "Think About Things" won tonight though, because that was the favourite when I looekd at the Söngvakeppnin 2020 Final odds this afternoon. My biggest concern that sounded to me like a UK pop song from the late 1970s or early 1980s, and could therefore be seen as behind the times.

So Daði & Gagnamagnið - "Think About Things" won Söngvakeppnin 2020, and will now therefore represent Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest in May. Iceland will perform in the first half of the second semi-final on 14 May 2020. The UK votes in the second semi-final, so I'll be able to vote for Iceland if I want to (or vote for some other country/countries to disadvantage Iceland) that night. Will Daði & Gagnamagnið qualify for the ESC 2020 Grand Final? Time will tell. Good luck to Iceland in Rotterdam in May.

I'm all for joke entries when there are no viable alternatives. If Dathi was Estonian then by all means please send him, he would be the best entry there. Here he is simply blocking a good and a fantastic entry with his middle of the road crap. This is why NF's are a bad idea generally. You're killing quality and variety in favor of bullshit that nearly killed Eurovision a decade and a half back.

I had 0 expectation in this NF as nothing interested me. Mediocre song, that is far from taste. I'd rather Iva than this, and I didn't like that much either. 1 point.
