What I like about this song is that you can go as OTT as you want and it won't look awkward at all. It's such a freak show and I'm LOVING EVERY SECOND OF IT!
I think their qualification is out of question now. What matters is how well they will do on Saturday.

I agree and that mostly depends on the juries sadly. But, I am optimistic for now.

I don't think juries will screw this as people might think. They're gonna have a fair ranking I guess. If it has to be 1st it will, if it has to be 12th it will cause there would have been 11 better performances to the eyes of the juries and televote.

Can't wait to see the changes they're gonna make

Am I alone or nobody is that interested in Iceland ? I can see them winning but everybody is dancing around all the radio friendlier songs. From all of the "divise" songs, Iceland seemed to have perform the best (nothing original but expected).

It's the only one that is weird in an ocean of great songs but no so original, that shit will stand out and daring entries (of quality ofc don't tell me about the irish turkey) are always rewarded in this contest.

Still my favorite entry this year, although it is a tough one to make fully justice live and this is where it will struggle a bit, although I still think it's different and stands out on its own term and this will attract enough televoters even if it's divisive. Juries will slaughter it though, they want their traditional dated middle-of the road safe cr*p but hopefully we will at least see Iceland in the finals this year. If juries were actual music experts and understanding music as an artform, then this would be no doubt top. 10, but juries never been and I think never will be in ESC so it all comes down to the public who are far more open minded to save them.

I also think as you do - Iceland is my No. 1 this year, but I have to agree with A-Listener that Juries will probably kill this. I think it will qualify (if not, it would be a sin), but it won't be a winner, even though I really want it to win. But who knows ... miracle happens. :D

actually If I have to be 100% honest I can see the juries not killing it but not really giving them a very good ranking (like between 5th at best and 15th at worst) but I can see them winning the televote and oh lord what shitshow it's going to be if the actual 1st televote is being downgraded like this. And of course having Iceland finishing 2 or in the top 10 but not winning. I think it's the more plausible way.

But to be honest I wouldn't have though the juries would have loved Portugal back then (even if compared to Iceland, Portugal is by far more accessible) so I'm hoping they won't rank that badly (like a top 10 finish with the juries) and that will be enough to win with the televote.

Actually last year, I did some maths and Albania in 7th jury place could have won Eurovision ( and all the countries above 7th - based on the fact that Israel wasn't there of course, you needed a least 100+ jury points to be above Cyprus). So I'm crossing my fingers to have a similar case this year and that is possible if all the songs are spread jury points-wise

She translated the song into sign language, and she's really giving it her all. This is so great.

Watching the ESCUnited live stream - the chorus vocals sound like they've improved a lot. Both more power from Klemens and a better mix with the backing singers, I think.

I still have no idea where they'll finish but go Hatari xheat

I seriously don't understand why people think Iceland will win the televote just because it's different/strange? I will peg them doing better in televote than juries, but won't win the televote as it a very divisive and I don't think people will just vote because it's different/strange.

I think this song is not just divisive but it's OVER THE TOP EXTRA divisive. It can appeal to a wide variety of people and specially fan of genres of music under-represented in the contest and those people are particularly supportive to these genres. So people are more inclined to vote for that song cause it will look like "once in a while" and you don't want to miss the opportunity to vote for a kind of music you won't see until many years.

also, It is for sure creating a "feeling" a "reaction", there's no middle ground : you hate it or you love it, and love means votes. You only vote for a song that you love, you don't vote for songs that you simply like. And as you may know, the televote is only a "love vote" you can't crash an entry you don't like you can only support the ones you like.

So I don't specially think it will be first televote but I can see it and others too having a strong support from the televote from the arguments above and we could find others I guess :)

They will get all "protest" votes, that´s for sure, like :at: 2003 and :lt: 2006

I love the staging very much, and I have the feeling that vocally they improved also. It's just ... that Georgia slayed it for me now ... so Iceland has to put up with being No. 2 now.
