Ok, it's impossible to have it in Italian Switzerland, there's no venues.

One Swiss city that definitely won't be hosting in 2025 is Lugano. The city that hosted the very first ESC back in 1956.

Their deputy mayor says their aren't any viable venues for them to choose from.

Geneva and Zurich seem to be the two frontrunners in my honest opinion

I see nobody is mentioning Swiss Life Arena in Zurich: it's a pretty new arena, opened a few years ago.

So, Switzerland has many options.

Hallenstadion is becoming ever so increasingly venue paving way for Zurich.

Apparently that they have been told to book off the venue especially for the date if the final could be 10th May.

I believe some Zurich hotels had alway blocked some dates too for those that already started opening bookings.

All needs to be confirmed though

In the end St. Gallen have decided not to submit a bid to host Eurovision 2025 citing it would be too expensive for them.

It was deeply expected that St Gallen would not be considered.

Many reasons with the key issues being missed such as the capacity for hotels and the ability for transportation links.

For Geneva, Basel and Zurich all 3 do meet these key criteria especially links between Basel and Mulhouse/Airport, Geneva and neighbouring French towns and ofcourse Zurich with the hotels and transport links to other cities that can be considered close approximately such as Winterthur.

I'd go for either Basel or Geneva, taking into consideration the accomodation costs. If this year they've had issues filling the Malmö Arena, I can't imagine what it could be if held in Zürich, even if it is the most interesting city of the three.

Zurich's cleared its first hurdle as two motions for the hosting bid were passed by its Municipal Council (only the SVP voted against citing Eurovision as "chauvinistic"). The proposals now head to Zurich City Council where it's more than likely to pass as the mayor and majority of council are in favor of the city hosting the contest

You know, I'd like it for one of the high altitude cities; just to tone down all these joke and dance songs for once. St Moritz-like. Should prob set it up in a stadium or smth, and is maybe not realistic, but I'd be good for a change.
