What a weird staging! Can anyone explain to me why they had ballerinas with foils to underline the message of a better love???? Is this some freudian symbolism? xrofl2

If we should go after the viewers after having performance uploaded on the official YT-channel, it seems that :gr: might have won the televote

Greece always has high Views. Also Yianna and Demy were Top5 after the first 1-2 Days.

So happy for Katerine! More than deserved qualification, as it was the best package of this semifinal, together with Iceland. Nevertheless, that last minute (minus the high note, which she killed *claps*) was a bit iffy and not up to par with the rest of the performance.

I already loved her voice and the song to bits - but I love her even more now after all the better love she showed Conan xlove

Kali epitixia, Hellas!

Not surprised, although I think the qualification has more to do with juries than televotes though since this is just what juries like, wannabe Sia, a bit generic, safe, in English, "westernized"... I'd prefer some other countries taking its spot in the final tbh but again, no surprise here so I guess it is what it is just not fitting my taste...

This entry is a visual mess. They could have tamed it down a bit with the visuals. Fencing, ribbons, blooming flowers, it all felt lacking in cohesion.

Vocally she's fantastic. The composition is beautiful and emotive, perfect for Katerine's vocal qualities.

I love the song, I really do but this performance was pretty damn messy tbh. Her vocals were ok but not really great. It deserved to qualify for the song quality so I`m very much ok with the outcome.

Song: 8/12
Performance: 3/12
Vocals: 6/12
Overall: 5/12
Semi Ranking: 7 out of 17

That one bit of the choreography where there were 2 dancers on one side and only 1 on the other bugged the life out of me. The performance itself came across prettier and more delicate than the rehearsal photos suggested so that was a good thing!

Best qualifier by a landslide. So refreshing and modern and there's definitely nothing dull here. I suspect this could have won the sf. Well done Greece, it was a relief among all those "acts", it's the best words that occurs to me. Defnitely a contender for a top 10. :D

I kind of like the studio version, although Katerine's voice is not my thing... but famn that staging is a mess.

I'm really curious to see if televoting will give it more points than juries or the opposite.

Somehow looked very typical Eurovision, the most typical of the night, but it didn't have much competition on that front. I was happy enough that it qualified. Without some Eurovision weirdness most wouldn't watch, and the chorus did grow on me. A shame it's not in Greek though.

I found the staging creative and pleasing to the eyes. Although not totally my taste, Katerine's voice does have character. I'll have to re-watch the performance.

It's too bad this act's Achille's heel comes from the musical department imo: "Better Love" sounds like any mainstream pop song, not only melodically but arrangements-wise too (those beats and drums have been so overused). It joins TWiiNS's "I'm Still Alive" and Anja Nissen's "Where I Am" - among others - on the list of "American x-factor debut songs" that entered the contest.

I'm not surprised this is a contender to win the semi since one cannot sound more pedestrian than that. Therefore, it was clever to bank on visuals to give it some kind of artsy value.

For years, I've been wanting Greeks to send a couple of attempts that wouldn't scream "Greekness" for the sake of change, but this is not the direction I wanted them to go in either. Oh well, I hope I'll be on board in 2020.
