There is no diaspora voting for Greece. Greece never had diaspora voting.

You're joking right? Greece has among the largest diasporas of European countries...

I know that we hvae big diaspora in some countries but we don't get diaspora voting. You can see it in the results in recent years so don't say lies. Where is the diaspora voting in 2017? 2018?

There is no such thing as demographic break-down in voting statistics darling... I am not lying when I am saying you have big diaspora... and last year you had one of the better entries and it was the juries downvoting you, not the public...

I am not saying that Greece is only relying on diaspora votes so tranquilo, all I am saying is that it's there unlike some other countries that have very limited to no help at all in that regards ;)

I know that we have big diaspora but that is in some countries like Germany and United Kingdom or even Sweden. How many points German televoting gave to Greece in 2017 final? Zero. UK? Zero. Sweden? Zero. Where are the diaspora votes?

You mean to that dated Kontopoulos entry? Even Russia, which has the largest diaspora of all, didn't manage to qualify to the final in 2018... so I think we should also look realistically at the entry, I think you should be satisfied it managed as well as it did even.

Anyways, I think you missed the point, I said that based on what I think, juries and diaspora will together help this entry achieve better results than it would based on only general public vote... at least this is what I think. With that said it doesn't mean that diaspora alone will be a large help, it might just push it further than without it.

Anyways, I wouldn't dwell on this further, it's just my prediction, there is no scientific proof that this will be the case (at least juries we can see if they support or not, with televotes we will never really know who is behind those votes).

I know that entry was terrible in 2017 but that's the point. Greece would have a diaspora voting if we would be able to get some points from countries that many Greeks live in even with a bad entry. It didn't happened so i there is NO diaspora voting who can help us.

Demy was 11th in :de: while her Average Televoting was 17.5, Diaspora wasnt enough to push her into Top10, since Interest in :de: becomes bigger and more Germans participate in the Televoting than last Decade where always :tr::gr::ba::hr::rs::ru: etc.. got our High Points regardless of the Songs.

Btw. last year :gr: came 10th with 48/53 Points coming from Neighbours and Countries with many Greeks, while 13 Countries where no Greeks live, gave a 0. With a fair Semi-Allocation, Greece wouldnt have been unfairly pushed over the Border last Year. So Greeces Diaspora is still strong.

But this year, they have only :cy::be: to get some automatic Points. If :gr: is in the Televoting Top10 this Year, it would be deserved in the Opposite to last Year, where :gr: only qualified because of the Allocation Draw (TV only) and not because of the Entry.

I wouldn't say you have NO diaspora helping you... again Russia with the largest even managed to not qualify at one point, also non-qualification happened to other large diaspora benefiters like Armenia for instance...

Maybe the Greek diaspora isn't as heavily involved as they were in the past, or maybe like Realest point out a larger portion of some countries' general public started to care about ESC and thus limited the diaspora impact some.

Anyway i give up but even if i agree that there is some low diaspora voting you know that is not enough to push our entry to the final. If there is no appeal in the general telvoting and juries then no qualification.

Automatic points from Belgium? We got 1 telvoting point in semifinal from Belgium in 2018 and 0 in 2017 final.

I think you're not wrong, just that I wouldn't agree that there is absolutely no diaspora that can help Greece out because this simply isn't true. But then again, I do agree with you that it's not enough always.

Anyways, I still think juries will like this more than the general public will... regardless if there will be any boost or not from diaspora this year.

Yes, we have 2-3 countries with big diaspora but we do not guarantee high points every year from them of course! The main problem is the Juries always, they don't vote for Greece and if this year they won't vote for us with one of the best songs, (and I mean top 10, not first or second!) then I agree with some fans we should leave the contest for 2-3 years.

The juries aren't the problem in this case. Greece simply submitted tracks of mediocre quality in this decade. Which entry should have been supported by the juries in recent years? Maybe 2015? But the song itself was way too predictable and old-fashioned (despite being nicely performed) but we had much stronger ballads that year.

There's no point of blaming bad results on the juries here because the Greek entries didn't add anything to the contest recently (ok, I did love 2010 and my family loved 2011 but those entries did perform well). "Rise Up" was very contemporary but a bit too repeititve and the vocals were so effing weak.... I do get that these ranks are disappointing but to be fair, I don't think that Greece did deserve better results this decade...

I wouldn't call "Better Love" one of the best songs this year, either. It's clearly well-produced and catchy but Katerine's voice is a big hit or miss (very distinctive, very nasal). I can totally understand juries voting or not voting for this entry.

And nope, I do not dislike Greece. In fact, Greece's been my favourite Eurovision country (2000-2009).

She's really into it. Is this Dutch sign language? Or international?

Dutch sign language. And yeah, she is into it, but the woman interpreting Arcade was even ‘more’ into it haha. But I guess they also try to express the emotive feel of the song.

But as far as I know they haven’t done any other than Greece and the Netherlands, so it shows that at least our broadcaster is charmed by Greece’s song. I hope it ends high. I like that her voice is different.

Edit: I was mistaken. They did other songs as well, including Iceland haha.

Theres Nothing objective good about this which forces the Juries to vote for it tbh.
No Hit-Potential, nothing Original, Bad Lyrics, imo horrible, unnatural Pronounciation...
Hopefully Jries arent influenced by the Fan-Hype.

What were we saying? Anyways

Katerine Duska will slay & show everyone that her song is a hit-potential, something original, creative lyrics, in everyone’s opinion incredible, natural and pleasing pronunciation and hopefully the juries are influenced by the fan-hype on Tuesday! :D

Why are you screaming, no one that didn't care before, won't start doing it just because of your font size...

The font size only looked slightly bigger when I posted the message. I don’t know why it turned out to be so large.
