Reporting on (and interviewing artists of) a contest you are also a judge in = conflict of interest.

Yes, before the voting, but after? We even had members in the German jury who were the former band member of one of the contestants :ROFLMAO:

I‘m the first one who wants PROFESSIONAL juries. I always bashed juries here because they don’t stick to their own criteria but my complaint was about William as the target of bashing in this forum like forever…

On a Sunday was amazing and one of my favourites that year; if I was a juror I would have voted for it as well, just saying.

Personally I would love Lord of Lost to complete for Germany. We need them on the stage this year. In deutsch it would have been more spectacular
Then I like Frida Gold, quite solid and most of all it is in deutsch, a language I love.
To be honest I like Ikke too.
Not a fan of Patty. The song is OK but I find it generic.it lacks identity. To my Mediterranean ears seems an Irish or scotish song. Don't think the traditional German music was sang in English.

I'm going to say it once again. How is Patty the fave. here? It literally sounds so dated and generic and then the same people hate on rene/will or anica who are also rather generic but at least not as dated as her. make it make sense.

Because the song is a fun bop and that's what a lot of us want especially from Germany. Yeah, the other two might have better produced and modern songs (although I disagree when it comes to Anicas song. It reminds me a lot of Bulgarias Victoria) but they're just boring and if that came from other countries I wouldn't vote for it. And that's the problem with Germany. Malik Harris was good. But he doesn't make people vote for him. It's generic music for the radios. Her song might have some dated elements (it's not a generic song imo) but at least it makes me want to listen to it more than one time and dance to it).

Is she really a Favourite? Id rather say shes a Forumfavourite.
As soon as we get Betting Odds, Ikke or LOTL will be on Top.

Ist sie wirklich ein Favorit? Ich würde eher sagen, sie ist ein Forumfavorit.
Sobald wir Wettquoten erhalten, wird Ikke oder LOTL an der Spitze sein.
Yes. I would say she is definetly favorite of ESC Fanbubble international. In Rankings und reaktionsvideos she is often 1st. Look at the coments under her official video. And under the selection video. They want patty.

Patty Gurdy is exactly what Norway or Sweden would send in a usual MGP/MF year. We‘ve had Keiino, we‘ve had Mans, we‘ve had Saade, Bengtsson, Subwoolfer (minus the silly lyrics and outfits)… all the same pop and all of them pretty successful at Eurovision. I‘m sure Patty would be receiving love from Scandinavia, UK + Ireland and probably all of Middle Europe, some Eastern European countries because they love instruments like the hurdy gurdy.

The question is: would it stand out enough when we already have Alessandra, who will get all the Scandi votes since it’s the same Scandipop I‘m talking about, only louder and more in your face than Patty. She will ALSO grab some of the Eastern European votes due to the ethnical influences, so again, Patty could lose against that.

Lord of the Lost would probably very popular - in some countries! Others not so much, that’s the problem. Some countries are not really for the rock market so LOTL would probably gather a lot of votes in certain countries, others zero. Patty would be more all over the place.

I can see Ikke getting votes from a lot of countries, be it because some countries love Ballermann Schlager, be it just for fun, I mean Guildo Horn came 8th (?), Stefan Raab 5th so there’s a market for everything.

Anica Russo is Victoria 2.0 and people weren’t much into Victoria actually, so she wouldn’t bring us a lot of points I guess.

Well, that was in 1998 and 2000, a completely different ESC era.

That’s true. But people voted for Moldova last year or Alcohol is free - so why not Ikke? (note: this is a question of fear, not a question of hope!)

There´s always an audience for folklore influenced songs like :md: 2022 and "Alcohol Is Free" 2013 was basically the last hurray for :gr: before their long drought in the 2010s.

So I don´t think both songs are good examples for a "good" result by Ikke.

I mean if we think like that we would've to send schlager music pretty much every year. It's not just about getting points and every genre can get points in Eurovision. We already had a rock song winning Eurovision. If a song is good it's good. I wouldn't put songs like Alcohol is free and Moldova's song from last year in the same category as Ikke's song. They're different genres. Ikke is just bad and I'm tired of Germany constantly sending either basic radio pop songs or "fun" trash acts. Jendrik was the last straw for me. Like that performance was so cringe I couldn't even finish it. It's time for something new and serious. No matter how much points it gets. Fulenn was a flop for France but at the same time it gained them many new fans. I still have that song on my playlist and France has become one of those countries that I'm excited about. I want our country to have more exciting entries. The only song that I liked from our countries in the last 20 years is Taken by a stranger.

Ikkes song is just embarassing. Nothing about it seems funny to me. Alcohol is free and Moldova last year were on a completely different level, if not miles above. Can't hear that comparision anymore.
