Sisters survived all NFs as no1 on my list.. but they lost that battle with Georgia recently..

Now, we will see how they will handle with internal selections' season..

Same here. Georgia's song is wonderful. Once heard, and I fell in love with it. :D And I think everything what Lenny said is right. Might be possible that Sisters end at the Bottom, but I still think we made the right choice iwth the act. Oh. And I think their harmonies WERE very much on point. Fell completely for it!

Bought "Wear Your Love" by Aly Ryan the other day and can't stop listening to it. It's cathy, infectious and memorable.. the brasses are fierce.. it strangely has some sort of disco vibes whilst still feeling super fresh, contemporary and even slightly progressive. Germany really missed the chance to submit an exceptionally brilliant track of high quality to Eurovision.
Same did happen to Blitzkids mvt. It's like we do like to sabotage ourselves.

Also had to think of Blitzkids when I saw Aly. Super modern and catchy record, but also quite the static staging. It looked nice the first minute, but got boring very fast as well, especially with such type of songs that just make you wanna dance. Would have loved at least a little bit of movement in both performances... (and by that I don't mean catwalking slowly on a treadmill)
The biggest "what if" I had since Gregorian and Avantasia.

To be fair, most of NDR's and Germany's staging are horrible. Cascada's dress and these stupid steps weren't brilliant either... or Elaiza's performance...

It just makes me wonder that Germany seems to not want to be represented by contemporary, modern and progressive pop songs. We usually end up choosing radio-friendly and bland tunes.

Gregorian, Avantasia, Unheilig, Faun would have been great options as well... their entries weren't exceptionally brilliant but they were completely different and would have stood out in Eurovision.

I'm over thinking about what could have been (even though I still listen to most of our NF songs from 2019, except Linus and Gregor). I'm quite enthusiastic for S!sters and I hope that they will work on the performance in the same way they did with Michael. I think they could score quite well if they get everything together. Xlove

I still wonder how much of that is actually under NDR's control and how much the artists themselves can bring into the discussion. I know for example that Natalie Horler (singer of Cascada) made the dress herself (EDIT: The one from the national final, that is), so ... xshrug It's of course always easier to criticise the broadcaster as the big bad guy, as they don't have a voice here.

SECOND EDIT, I'M SO SORRY: Now that I think of it, I believe the clothing is basically always up to the artist. Jamie-Lee did of course her own thing, Levina knew a designer from London who made her her dress, Michael chose to wear his favourite sweater on stage... it is definitely not up to NDR

And the S!sters were on shopping spree for their costumes in the KaDeWe before rehearsing (see Trumans Vlog on YT).

"Laurita Spinelli is the sister of singer Jennifer Kae. She is managed by Lars Ingwersen, who plays a major role in the ESC songwriting workshop."

What is the problem? I don't quite get it.

Well, it's not bad, it somehow becomes stronger while it develops. And I like this aspect in songs. But it's not the kind of song I would spend money supporting it. But considering what I've been listening too. it's far from being the worst. :D

I honestly have to say that even with all the new entries coming in - I still like our S!sters very much. It wasn't love on first sight but right now I'm so happy with them. xlove

Me too. I have quite a few 12pts, and Sisters are still among these entries. And luckily it's not a fader. :D

The song reminds me about this Polish hit from early 00s.

Here's the translation of the lyrics. As you see it concerns similar stuff, some people interpreted as a song about lesbian love but I disagree  They're free to read on their own. Either I always loved this song. For me it is simply about going together through one's life through various difficulties, moments of doubt and often in defiance of other people, their professed ideals and conveys its message in such a powerful way.

I don't need to ask if you open your door,
'cause I know, that you will stay in the doorway if I come,
And I will leave my coat, lined with fear
If beside me and beside no one else
Will be your bright face

You give me defiant thoughts, anxieties.
You still have them so much - my beloved.
Don't think that we will never pass each other,
Though it's easier to walk together against the wind

You held up my head
I didn't smash up it on the ground
For now
Call my name before sleep
I will come with the dawn
Please, don't sleep, I am here!

You give me defiant thoughts, anxieties.
You still have them so much - my beloved.
Don't think that we will never pass each other,
Though it's easier to walk together against the wind
