And yes, it happened, A third Sopho from Georgia in ESC!
The singer change was needed, but I also feel sorry for the old singer that was replaced just like that. :/
But oh well, the song is really good, will easily pass the final after the singer change and I wouldn't be surprised if Georgia can continue to climb on their stairs to ESC win 2018!
2007: 12th
2008: 11th
2009: not in, but problably it would have been 10th
2010: 9th
2011-2018: 8th-1st?
Dear All, as you are already aware ELDRINE, the winner of ESC Georgian National Selection 2011 has changed its lead vocal (Tamar Vadachkoria) to a new one (Sophio Toroshelidze) that was immediately followed by defamatory comments placed on internet social networks like Youtube and Facebook, accusing Sophio literally forcing out a previous lead vocal (Tamar Vadachkoria) from the Band.
Considering the above mentioned we would like to disclaim the above allegation and confirm that the shift of the players was caused by Tamar Vadachkoria solely, who refused signing the contract with the production company thus leaving the band with no lead vocal. The ELDRINE producers after having considered several candidates decided on Sophio Toroshelidze to perform the winner song at ESC 2011 in Dusseldorf.
They've butchered my favourite ESC 11 song! The vocals aren't as good, but not bad. The problem is how they've completely re-jigged the musicality of it. The rock element has almost been completely removed and now it sounds like something an amateur keyboard player would come up with in 5 minutes.
Formerly 10 points, now 4 points. Well done on destroying your chances of a good result.
liked the previous version more....the chorus remained powerful but the rest parts....ordinary.......the good thing is that vocals now seem quite good (of course this is studio recording so cant really tell...but doubt live can be worse than the previous one!!!!!!!!!!!!!which BY ALL MEANS was terrible....)
