Background:
This melancholic ballad song is entitled
"Terakhir Buat Teman" meaning
"Last Song for A Friend".
Music director,
Lok U composed this song together with guitarist
Aji in honor of their best friend and bassist,
Kelly who passed away in
May 2019.
Sadly,
Aji passed away in
September 2019 before the song production could be completed.
Soon after,
Lok U passed away in
January 2020, before the song could be released.
The song was eventually released in
December 2020, sang beautifully by singer duo
Hazama and
Siti Sarah.
In
August 2021, Siti Sarah sadly passed away after giving birth to her fourth child due to Covid-19 complications.
Shortly after, in
March 2022, Rudy Imran, the lyricist of the song also passed away.
In an interview,
Hazama mentioned that he will never sing this song in any live performance, out of sadness.
Looking back,
Hazama recalls the moment when he and
Siti Sarah were going through the lyrics and found the lyrics too heavy. They insisted the lyricist to change some parts.
However,
Rudy Imran insisted to maintain the song lyrics as it is, as quoted
"what has been written, cannot be changed".
