Thank you Malagant for hosting this Spin-Off - it was another very enjoyable contest! Congratulations :dk: Denmark on taking the victory and thank you all for sharing this wonderful selection of songs.

I must admit I am surprised at :uk: UK result for Elton John, but we did win the last Spin-Off so I suppose the bar was set high for the next UK representative! Thank you for the points we received:

Congratulations, :dk: and @FabiESC, on your victory! "From Paris to Berlin" was an easy choice for my :12: points. I heard the song frequently on XM Satellite Radio during the service's heyday in the mid-2000s. Your entry has brought back some good memories for me.

Thanks, @Malagant, for your fabulous hosting of this spinoff.

Thanks to the following for giving :nz: points.

Special shoutout to @anabanana2000 for the song choice. I almost submitted a cover of the song myself! My family ancestry is Irish and when my uncle (from Tipperary) passed away from cancer, that was the song that was played at his wake and funeral. It was his favourite song and our family sang it together in his memory. The meaning of the song is really powerful (especially when you can see the parallels to current global events). The lyrics always make me a bit emotional and make me incredibly proud to be an advocate for human rights, liberation, and self-determination, and even prouder to be of Irish descent xheart

also congrats Husavik and :se:! Instantly when I first heard it I texted my friend that I could see it getting an Oscar nomination and was so excited when it did.

Congrats again to the winner :dk: Denmark! xup It's a great dance-pop song that I have always been fond of.

I also want to give credit to :ro: Romania (great song, pity it did not vote), :uk: United Kingdom (classic, way underrated), :es: Spain (another classic) and :se: Sweden (great song from a fun ESC-movie, congrats with 2nd place!) which I all enjoyed.

And thanks for all the points (special thanks for the 12 and 10 points!) and a very good 5th place for my entry from :de: Germany xup

I had several candidate songs for this Spin-Off, among them actually the Danish winner as well as a song by Norwegian Folk-rock band Lumsk, but in the end I chose German Xandria with their great Symphonic Metal song. “I will cross the mountains and seas. We will always be one” they sing.

I like several genres within Metal (except the most extreme forms) but if any of you ever wondered what kind of Metal music Malagant really loves, it is this melodic kind with Epic Symphonic Metal with choirs :D I love this song, wish Norwegian Sirenia would return to this type music, and am happy to see many of you enjoyed it too!

Thank you, guys for your kind words, glad you all enjoyed this fun FSC August Spin-Off from 'exotic' Ivory Coast

Congrats to @FabiESC & the win for :dk: xcheerso much nostalgia for me with this song, good and bad
Really enjoyed this spin-off, esp some entries that were completely new to me, :pl: :ph: :ro: :az: in particular were entries I was drawn to!

Delighted to see so many of you enjoyed the :ie: entry, really means a lot. There are SOOOO many versions of this song, I went with this one in particular for Colm McGuinness's pure emotion & epic-ness and I believe he's done the song justice with his modernisation IMO! I will admit I found myself listening to it a fair bit more than expected! Earlier this month I met some long-lost family from the small townland of Athenry and the song hit me in the feels more than ever

@Kevan1994 I'm absolutely touched in memory of your Uncle hgreen But you also hit the nail on the head there - this song reflects a sad history and means a lot to the millions of diaspora across the globe of Irish descent, but now more than ever the powerful lyrics have a shared identity with so many many more.

First of all, congratulations to Denmark, that was definitely a worthy winner. (It feels a little weird that the song is older than I am, but I digress)

Secondly, thanks for those who voted for 🇲🇱 in this edition!

It's not much, but it's points. I'd been pushing for this theme for about a year because this song came to mind almost immediately when I thought about the idea. I discovered the group a few years ago, and it was the first music I got into that wasn't already relatively well-known here in the States, and probably is partially responsible for my current eclectic tastes.
