4th I kinda decided that if UK or Germany win then i will withdraw, otherwise i will likely stay

Why do you have a problem with us winning?

The fact that it is bluntly obvious that everyone already knew your singer before you entered her. And everyone who have read esc news would have probably heard the song too. (I am rather sure that most people here follow esc news) Because of that i find your this entry to be really pointless. Not to mention your other entries which haven't been much better. You have the biggest music market in Europa and should easily find something most people haven't heard easily if you'd try a little....

(Song wise neither of UK or Germany are the worst this edition)

But why enter an unknown song if we keep doing well with known songs?

Because the purpose of this contest is to discover new good music (at least from my perspective). What means that when you send something everyone knows then you deserve to end up last no matter how good song you send. Also doing well is really not so important that it should be even considered when choosing a song

When you enter a competition, generally your main aim is to win. As you say, your perspective is clearly different from mine.

I actually agree with Spz here, I admire the USA entries for not picking the easy way to win.

Like I can't imagine some countries ever winning FSC tbh.

Just post it in your forum Sophie :D And I kinda agree with SpZ but not competely. It'd be nice to see some of the UK talent that isn't as much known internationally (such as the fantastic Paloma Faith) but if the songs are of high quality and are within the 8 months old then there is no reason why they shouldn't be entered. You can't say you'll withdraw because a country wins - they have won cause they have a good song which has earned them votes. I'd also like to add that it's rare you find a British artist who is unknown outside of the UK, so it's harder to find unknown songs.

Here are my predictions (not my personal top-faves, coz they won't match majority's taste anyway  ).
the UK, Canada, Germany -> top-5
Russia, Japan, Finland, Norway -> top-10
Switzerland, Romania, Ukraine, Sweden, Spain, Albania -> top-20
Again, this prediction doesn't indicate my vote and my preferences

So what's the exact time for the results show? I hope that it won't be too late

1st i should probably say that i voted like an hour ago. 2nd i have nothing against commercial artists. However the idea for me is to find new artists and if i have heard your song before then you have failed. I have nothing really against commercial artists when they aren't too famous. 3rd i also think my this edition's song was better, i kinda sent the song last edition before because it was ending the 8 months 4th I kinda decided that if UK or Germany win then i will withdraw, otherwise i will likely stay and send to next edition a) some song in some heavier metal genre (like death or trash) or b) an indie rock band from the 80s who randomly made a indie electronic song this year which mtv picked up like a week ago and it instantly hit 1st in mtv charts in all 3 baltic countries.

I would prefer to hear the second song most probably. I'm also a bit unhapy with how the UK treats this contest. And I really can't imagine why someone would try winning every time when they've won 2 out of 7 ones so far. I don't mind Germany winninf because it's the first great song from Germany and I odn't think they've deliberately aimed at the victory. I actually like My Man but would rather see it finish 2nd or 3rd.

Actually, they have won 3 out of 7 editions (March, May and September) ;)

And about my predictions.....

TO WIN: UK, Finland and Denmark
TO FIGHT FOR TOP 10: Ireland, Russia, Romania, Croatia, Japan, Turkey, Poland, Austria, USA, Ukraine, Germany
FOR THE BOTTOM: Hungary, Macedonia, Estonia, Bulgaria

Of course, it has nothing to do with my taste and how I voted. Even some counties are upside down on my own ranking

I guess it's fairly obvious to everyone that Germany and UK stands a better chance of winning than the rest. Therefore these two countries will be fighting for the victory. The 3rd placed country could basically be anyone else, but countries like Turkey, Romania, and perhaps Poland could admittedly achieve a good result.

For me the winner of this edition isn't questionable. It will be between two countries, Germany and UK.

The rest of the countries have to be content with a place lower than top-2. For my own country I hope for top-5, and that's what I'm clearly aiming at as I consider a victory completely unrealistic.

I'd be happy if we're last, but I'd be happier if we're top 10 with a song, which I sent for the last place :) But the first option is more achievable I think ;)

I agree with SpZ to some extend. We're here to promote generally unknown music. However UK members of this forum are not to blame, that UK artists have great PRs and producers and their songs go outside. Their songs are not much better than any other country's song, it's just that the other countries aren't that famous on the world market. And that's not purely based on songs quality. What I don't agree with is UK winning every edition of FSC because of fame on the music market. Sorry, but I don't think your winners (except Alesha Dixon) are very deserving and I do think you get a few points more now, than you would if your country as a whole was unknown in the world music. Anyway, I got a little off-topic, my point is - if you like a song, that is by chance commercial and worldfamous, you can send it. FSC is not for music that nobody knows, it's for music that you like and chose to share with us. And why not fight for victory?
So, all the songs Bulgaria sent so far are VERY famous and commercial among the bulgarian population (with the only exception of... the winner in August, lol. But it still fits the question, because I sent it partially because of Ruslana and wanted to see how it will affect the votes), does it mean we should receive the same ammount of critisizm as you gave UK? Perhaps everyone should send garage rock bands, because they are not famous or commercial? I don't think so :)

And finally, more to the point - what time does the show start :)
