Me voilà même si mise à nue j'ai peur, oui

Me voilà même si mise à nue c'est fini

Me voilà même si mise à nue c'est fini
Me voilà dans le bruit et dans la fureur aussi
Regardez moi enfin et mes yeux et mes mains
Tout c'que j'ai est ici, c'est ma gueule c'est mon cri
Me voilà, me voilà, me voilà
Voilà, voilà, voilà, voilà
Voilà

Got my first impression tonight and wow...this is like she said such a french chanson, but in a classy way. No re-invention of music needed with her aura. I bought every second. Lovely xheart

Saw the snippet. I think she is too tempted to overdo it, could turn from classy to a mess.

France has taken back the lead in the odds, Switzerland fell a little back again after a rise throughout the day today...

I don't like the song at all and everything about Barbara looks fake to me.
She tries too hard to look like a human form of all the French sterotypes that I'm surprised she doesn't hold a cigarette on stage.

I'm not here for this conservative track to win...

I think she's genuine cause we hold some respect to that old style of song and we basically all grew up listening to those songs. So I see in it some sort of legacy I would say BUT you're actually very right that's very stereotypical and that's the thing that bugs me about our entry but well.

We really have a cultural problem in France like we're often trashing pop songs and really put on a pedestal "music with a soul" or "artist that have their own music universe" and other bullshit. We call it "l'exception culturelle française" which means the cultural french exception where everything has to be high standard, not too pop or too fun or you're gonna be trashed to hell. So this girl grew in a country where Piaf, chanson in general is seen with huge respect and you can't change anything about it like you have to do it the old way and I guess she never thought of being something else than that rip off cause it's how you supposed to do it.

Like I can still remember when Indila was having her success at the beginning people were like "that's too poppy" "she's trashing our musical legacy" then when she was 1st in the charts it was "oh that's such a fresh turn on french music" lmao.

i do not like the camera work here AT ALL. Not too much of a fan of the song in general but this shaky visual made me enjoy it even less. but maybe it will appeal to those who enjoy the song anyway

IMO the camera work is perfect. Especially the last part. It's so personal and makes me believe everything she says. I like how she is showing the struggle inside herself. One of the best songs to ever participate in Eurovision.

Totally agree about the camera work -- it really cheapens the performance. It's as if they included it because they think the audience is too stupid and needs a visual queue to understand the buildup and realise the song gets more frantic as it goes along.

i actually like the beginning (which they didnt show at the semifinal clip) but the ending is just too forced for my taste

I think I am the only one who has issues with the way she is singing. It feels like she is forcing herself to sing aggressively.
She didn't sound that pleasant (at least, to me).

I am feeling France less and less I fear. I respect the entry but I do not like it. It is very proper, clean, defined, calculated and sterile. I don't get to know Barbara after the 3 min are over, I just see a facade of musical perfection with not much layers behind it. I sincerely hope it does not win though I would appreciate more than the majority of recent winners.
I just think this narrative that has been pushing France towards winning has been served to us time and time again and has produced the winners in 2017 and 2019. I don't want anymore winners shrouded in this cover of "real music" - "no fireworks" as if the only real music are drowsy retro songs from western Europe and anything that is remotely pop, folk, fun or alternative is disposable fast-food.
So please don't win France, 2nd place is also amazing.

I like the song and I think the part they keep showing during the recap is dynamic and engaging. The problem I have with this song is the same problem I had with Portugal in 2017: The style of the song and the presentation are based on a historic style from around the early to mid 20th century and not contemporary at all. I think the song also has some lengths before it builds up to the chorus.

It's interesting to see that this is one of the favorites to win. Overall I think this year is rather weak.
I will give this 10 points for now. It's a nice addition to the contest and I also like older music but I generally favor more contemporary entries.
