Me voilĂ  mĂȘme si mise Ă  nue j'ai peur, oui

Me voilĂ  mĂȘme si mise Ă  nue c'est fini

Me voilĂ  mĂȘme si mise Ă  nue c'est fini
Me voilĂ  dans le bruit et dans la fureur aussi
Regardez moi enfin et mes yeux et mes mains
Tout c'que j'ai est ici, c'est ma gueule c'est mon cri
Me voilĂ , me voilĂ , me voilĂ
VoilĂ , voilĂ , voilĂ , voilĂ
VoilĂ

I didn't know that les wampas were on the 2007 French NF and I am sad that we probably wouldn't have things like that for representing France as people seem to like old-fashioned and very polished song. 😔

I thought for a second I jumped on a time capsule when I saw Tex and Julien Lepers.
About this song, if he had better vocals I would have supported it. Still, can't wait for us to send something that could fit in a summer festival.
But yeah, in my mind from another universe we sent Tryo - Désolé pour hier soir in 2003 and won after slaying the jury.

Lol i remember this NF. Uuuuuuhhhh only makes me puke just to see Tex again.

Les Wampas didn't win ofc, i guess that's a curse about songs called "Vote for us" "We are the Winners" and so on...

I remember that in this NF there was also a band called "Les Vedettes" with a song called "Vive Papa" which was composed by Philippe Katerine, a singer/actor/other stuff which i LOVE (you may know him by Jimmy Fallon maybe).
I used to say that it wasn't what he did best... but looking back in time it could have been awesome in Helsinki, it's punk in a way and the lyrics are somewhat funny, even tho the vocals are a bit off.

Also there was a duo called Medi-T (which was in the superfinale w/Les Fatals Picards)... Well this is cheap ass rap/reggaeton but the funny thing is the duo includes Medi Sadoun, which became after a """"""""bankable"""""""" actor in France by playing in some racist comedies (yeh that's the kinda of stuff french people like, don't ask me i can't understand neither).

I guess they saw Lordi's winning, then stopped chosing lowkey Natacha St-Pier copycats and said "wOoHOo LEt's gET wILd LMAOOOO :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:" but hey, french tv is being french tv, doesn't really match between.

It was just a premise before Allez Ola Olé xheat

After many and many listens of VoilĂ , i'm still amazed by the song. I agree on the fact it can still win the contest, despite the release of some bangers like El Diablo for example.

I kinda agree. It's impactful on first listen but then it isn't something I want to keep going back to.

Well this is all we are asking for at Eurovision, an impactful song at the first listen. Most of the viewers watch Eurovision and discover the songs during the Grand Final and this one impactful is enough to leave a mark and be remembered by the audience, especially with the last part. This is not the kind of song that can be radio friendly. It's more like a piece of art so i'm not surprised you dont listen to this on repeat.

It is such a pleasure to actually like your country's entry for once !

BUT THIS YEAR, I can finally stand behinf my country's colors, not only out of patriotism, but because I really like our song.

I pray to god that we get a top 10, I can see it happening. I won't say it can win tho, but I just hope for a decent result :)

Let's hope it does well !

12 points pour la France, mother nation xheart

I'm going to be really butthurt if France isn't AT LEAST Top 5.
You've been one of my favourite eurovision countries in the last couple of years (except for last year) and deserved better placements. It's been 44 years, it's time for that win!

I really like that there are les fatals Picards / les wampas / Katerine involved in a French NF. I mean they are well known, current, have their distinctive touch and it's joyful. Of course they are not what could connect at best with international audience but I really would enjoy these kinds of songs in our NF in the future and some artists of the indie scene taking part.

Yesterday I was watching a SĂ©bastien Tellier's gig on YouTube, ofc we know that he messed his staging and was drunk so the live performance is... what it is... but actually it's a pretty big deal to have this kind of artist in esc and the song is really good and I know a lot of people listening to it without knowing that it's eurovision related.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, actually imo it was really cool to see these kind of acts. I loved L'Amour à la Française back then, it was some fresh air after years of "Pascal Sevran-approved artists", but ehhh idk, it didn't age well.

I'm still thinking about who had idea of bringing SĂ©bastien Tellier but i still think it was a great move since he was already hyped in the music scene. In this case, the overall performance still seems relevant to me when i look back in time even tho i did not understand everything back then when i was 17. Still belongs to the "out of the box" ESC all of fame rn, and maybe the most one for France. The staging makes me laugh a lot with all of these random angles, the helium balloon...
I wouldn't be surprised if we discovered that Quentin Dupieux directed the staging for this one.

Actually I liken Barbara's song to Jamala's, impressive to watch but you wouldn't want to seek out to listen to it.

It should bring the best result for France since Amir. Barbara is very charismatic which helps a lot too and they already do have the right staging for it that can be even further improved.

"Are you going to change anything for the final on May 22 in Rotterdam?

Barbara : I'm very scared the moment you start reworking something. Because that's the pressure. I think what works with this song is sobriety and modesty. I will do the same for better. We will work precisely on each light to know when it comes on. I will also be dressed a little differently. These are small details. But when something works, you don't have to look any further."

Very true. She knows her package works, just need the minor tweaks and she's good to go. Plus I think the positive feedback she has received for the song and the staging definitely gives her the confidence. Good for her and the delegation.

The only thing that could need some polish is the animation with the birds. Everything else should stay the exact same. I loved her outfit it was simple but the belt thingy really elevated it.

That's one of the little things she said she would change as she told in her RTL interview ;)

I like what is said about Gjon's Tears :

- The artist Gjon's Tears will represent Switzerland. Do you know him ?
- Of course ! He's really nice and he is a great singer. He sent me a mail before Eurovision France to tell me : "If you win, you'll be my roughest competitor" I answered : "Kitty, i am in competition with nothing. I only hug and kiss" :)
