Re: FRANCE 2016

Apparently, France is going to stay in the contest. Yesterday, Eurovision gathered around 4.5 million people, which is +27% of TV share, the biggest share since 2009 in France. TF1 was only 3rd : http://www.ozap.com/actu/audiences-...ance-3-tf1-tres-faible-avec-money-drop/468638

Also, today France 2 said that the broadcast (and thus the participation) of the contest was not questionned at all : http://www.jeanmarcmorandini.com/ar...-par-la-chaine-n-est-pas-remise-en-cause.html

Re: FRANCE 2016

“I think that the Swedish deserved to win. We were all saying this when we arrived. He had the song, the scenography. He was sublime, handsome, sexy. He danced well. His song is a big hit. There’s nothing more to say about that.”
On Eurovision: “It is my firt Eurovision song contest, I think the show has changed a lot, there’s an incredible modernity that didn’t exist before.”
On future participation: “After all we lived last week, of course we are deceived and we are asking ourselves if we have to continue participating. I want to say that WE HAVE TO CONTINUE PARTICIPATING. The show has changed, and we also have to change. We didn’t know that before, and I think this year we discovered a new show, a new spectacle, a modernity that didn’t exist before. It was passionate, innovative. If we continue, i can tell you that we will come back with a new state of mind.”
On singing in french: ” I saw that the BBC made a subtitle ” why isn’t she singing in english?” If everyone was singing in english, we should have been warned. We will sing in english. If we have to come and sing in english like everyone else, we will do it.”

Apparantly this is what the French HoD said in an interview. She only realized now that Eurovision has become an modern contest with modern music. That explains why "N'oubliez pas" was chosen as the 2015 entry  If she had done her homework she should have understood all the things she said in that interview before though.

At least it seems that she now as a new state of mind in regard to Eurovision, and hopefully she'll manage to come up with a great French entry in 2016.

Re: FRANCE 2016

If France 2 learnt the lessons from this edition, we can expect somethinh young with a universe, or at least a strong character with charisma.

I really like the universe of Dimie Cat for example.

Luc Arbogast is someone very atipical. I am sure that loads of Eurofans would welcome his participation with open arms

Marina Kaye can be a bold choice. I think some people already know her here

A duo Julien Doré/Micky Green would be beautiful on scene

Perhaps it could be Yseult? She was on the jury this year.

They're considering changing to English if it helps them do better? Oh dear, stick to your guns France. You can do well with your own language (Italy says hi)

Re: FRANCE 2016

You know there is something wrong when even France is planning on ditching the native language. I hope they don't, you can only relay on Italy, France and Portugal now for full native language songs.

Re: FRANCE 2016

So France is seriously considering singing in English next year xthink

When the French are ditching their own language for a stupid song competition you know things are getting rotten.

Now do people believe ESC is going down the drain?

We can live with the death of native style songs in their own language across europe, but when France ditches it's own language, then that is the final straw.

Re: FRANCE 2016

They already sang in English in 2008 (with an awful result). :fr: I think this is not the way, but it's clear that if you want to win nowadays you have to sing in English

Re: FRANCE 2016

Yeah but that was only part of the song.....I think a majority of it was still in French, wasn't it :?

And lets face it, the stage act was a mess and the vocals were hardly her best

His english was terrible, so maybe many people thought he was singing in french, but it was actually english (with a sentence in french)

I'm
Looking for a band today
I see the Chivers anyway
Through my eyes

Oh oh oh I'm
I'm alone in life to say
I love the Chivers anyway
'Cause Chivers look divine

Look away
They try to find the Milky Way

They love to drink it everyday

No no no you
You and I, It's like you said
I'm not a Chivers anyway
You look fine

Oh oh oh I
I'm alone in life to say
I love the Chivers anyway
Cause Chivers look divine

Look away
They try to find the Milky Way

I
Toi et moi C'est comme tu sais
Pour moi l'amour chante en français

She looks fine

Oh oh oh I'm
Looking for a band today
I see the Chivers anyway
I 'll be a Chivers guy some day
In my mind
