I find it interesting (actually somewhat frustrating) that the country so famous and highly regarded for its metal seem only capable of delivering us Sonic The Hedgehog rock at Eurovision. There's time for fun and cheese too of course but where's the serious, hard hitting metal stuff? When will we see any of that in UMK rather than the Saturday morning kid's tv stuff?

I'll need more listens of it to know properly what I think, and listens it will get as this is 99.9% winning the selection. Look at the trend of Finnish entries from the past few years. It's just men, men, men and the fact the public hold 75% power means there's no stopping this meme package I'm afraid. I genuinely loved Cha Cha Cha but Puppy on first listen repelled me. I can appreciate the punch it delivers but it's just all a bit too juvenile and silly. I'm really over forced novelty entries at this point. The composition itself I feel deserves some praise for how polished it is, but please, Finland.. don't be so predictable this year.

The doors Finland could have opened itself if it send Paskana last year instead of that denim nightmare.
Now we're stuck with this.

I'm more of a cat person. Now guess what five letter word that starts with P and ends with Y, would make this song even better.

But even as it is, it's absolutely amazing and I'm obsessed with it. xyaaay

Despite I like metal music, this is bad. Puppy, puppy, puppy, not for me. This is the worst song.

1. Viivi
2. Nelli Matula
3. Neea Rivers
4. Costee
5. One Morning Left

This feels like the surfer that started too late and is desperately trying to catch a wave that is well ahead of him.

Puppy is a very formulaic song, with former :fi: entries as its cousins. It’s absolutely not the kind of music I like outside Eurovision. It’s not a revolutionary new song, never done before. But somehow I’m buying it. It’s entertaining me well enough. And compared to all the UMK25 beige songs that have been released so far, it’s easily the clear frontrunner.

I’m not super hyped about it though. UMKs overall quality is very bad this year…

I can understand that people don’t like this but I feel like some people are too harsh on it. There are some fun songs I don’t like too, like No Rules last year, it felt way to cheap and uninspired. But as I said, Puppy is actually a good party song. Ready for Apres Ski/ Ballermann… Im even buying the Lalala part and normally I’m no fan of lalalas.

Not sure how this would do at Eurovision though. Probably better than No Rules but obviously worse than Cha cha cha/ Blind side.

To put it bluntly. Yeah, its over. As I suspected from the beginning OMP are winning. Erika and Goldielocks are better off holding onto their songs for 2026 and withdrawing now. They have zero chance of winning. ZERO

Its like Alekseev's chances of losing that Belarusian selection. Zero percent.
and it was a real crime for Shuma's "Hmarki" :(

As i mentioned before its trying way too hard for me but in this selection so far i do think it has the biggest chances to win, it stands out. Like some of u said i'm kind of over these entries that have to be extreme just for the sake of it

It's a big no for me for three reasons:
  1. "No Rules" was less forced and had less stupid lyrics, it says it all
  2. Electric Callboy may call for plagiarism of "Pump It" (and if you pronounce it too quickly, "Pump It" and "Puppy" sound the same)
  3. I hugely prefer cats.
It's not THAT bad musically but come on, this is way too formulaic to be interesting. Even "meow cat please meow back" was better and more clever as a silly gimmick.

PLEASE ERIKA SAVE US AND HAVE MERCY

Hard to make me repulsed by a song just off the intro but One Morning Left managed to do that. (n)

Everything about this is painful. Loud and screamo not for cleverness just for the sake of "dramatic effect". I get this is the main schtick for metal-core songs but that doesn't excuse how annoying and unpleasant it is.

Also incredibly lazy writing that sounds like it came from a pre-schooler. Its absolutely winning and likely by a huge margin. I'm just going to listen Aina again to wash out what I just heard.
