I don't know what to say...first of course I am a bit disappointed that Mikael Saari lost AGAIN! It is no point he is joining the NF I guess.
I can't judge this song, it is somewhat modern and retro at the same time, it is catchy but in the same time annoying. Such a weird song, but I can't say it is bad...
I have to think through this song I suppose.

I wonder if the voting system is anywhere as crazy as it's here. Think about it: 4 little kids and 4 asphalt workers had 10% power of choosing the winner.

Yes I agree it's crazy... I said this last year when the little kids supported the overhyped boy band Satin Circus and ignored PKN but apparently for some people it's only bad this year because they didn't support the eurofan's big fav Mikael Saari.

Dear Lord that asphalt worker was sooooo fucking hot xheat

However it was great show last night. It was so enjoyable watching Lordi live after a couple of years. Hosts were great, Krista like a sugar, male host as piece of cake .
Even Saara's song is not a masterpiece she was the best possible option for Stockholm, but still Sandhja is great too. Winning song is so Not My Soul vibe from last year JESC, and I love it. Mikael were boring, duet great, grandma Enni somewhere on the middle of the road, Crystal Snow okish, Tuuli boring

I love this song very much and that's why I mark it with 12 points

Last year, the juries had 10% of the power, this year they had 50% - not quite comparable, but I vastly prefer last year's setup, as the juries were "an entertaining element" as stated by YLE rather than an actual force in deciding the entry. This year, nothing changed, but suddenly the entertainment had become very serious indeed. This was a bad result waiting to happen, and indeed it did.

What the hell is this, UK in ESC in early 2000s? This is a nightmare, that outfit kills me, I think I'm gonna collapse.. xfaint (this time in negative way  )

I give 3 in the poll, for good vocal skills.

Way to go Finland - sing it it away

Early on in the selections I supported Stella Christine, more as an artist than her song. Hope she will be back! Another artist who stood out was Sandhja and I really fancied the disco brass hook in her song, but thought she'd be chance-less. So happy she won! Good luck.

I'm really sad we won't be seeing Saara Aalto :( I saw her as a contender to win Eurovision, and while this song is still good, it's not on the same level. Why finland, why?? :(

You should ask: why, you asphalt workers, why? ;)

Mikael was so meh tbh. The scenography was on point though, I liked the simplicity and effectiveness of the camerawork/choreography combination, it was telling a story. But the song... Gosh, it was so cheesy. God knows I'm weak with dramatic power ballads and stuff like that, but this one sounded so fake, it didn't go anywhere.

In addition to that, his vocals - despite being on point - didn't have any depth, they were even and emotionless.

It doesn't matter if it was 90-10 or 50-50, the conformation of the jury itself is ridiculous... Had the difference between PKN and Satin Circus tighter that 10% would have decided the final outcome... As i said i didn't see anyone complaining about it last year, I believe it is because the boyband was the eurofan fanbase fav.

In any case, the jury should be made up of musicians, composers, producers not little children or random gays xcrazy

cegs5 Of course, having no jury (but maybe a superfinal) is vastly superior to the current system. I'm very skeptic about Yle's ability to assemble a professional jury, so might as well give the voters the power.

If they insist on keeping this jury with random groups, we should demand that a ESC United group be created then. It would make more sense.

I think, the fans are partly responsible for this kind of bizarre election processes. When there is heavy criticism after a result and the way of electing (be it be it jury, be it televote, be it a 50:50 system) is blamed for a bad result in the contest afterwards (sth. to be seen and read quite commonly in social networks, forums...), well then the TV-productors think of new ways to improve or at least make the public think, that they try to do so. The "hey-look-we-have-an-even-better-system-this year"-attitude leads to experiments that sometimes really are questionable.
The other thing is, the longer and more complex you make the process of electing, the more suspense you can (theoretically) produce. That may also be a reason why new systems are constantly tried out (with more or less success)
