Re: FINLAND 2014

Actually rooting for both, so it's an easy switch over to Mikko if she'd translate her song to English... however just like some guess it's probably (hopefully) just for promo.

I think it is though. Jasmin Michaela's song (I actually tried to remember the title, but I can only remember the first part ) is the only song I've listened to, and only 30 seconds or so, but I loved it, and part of it was the Finnish language, that just sounds great in this type of songs!

This! Translating it to English (which is a COMPLETE different sounding language) would change the whole song.

Anyways, she'll probably not win :( And we'll probably end up with that yawning boyband or something instead :(

I imagine Mikko Pohjola will probably win, although I'm hoping for MIAU, Hanna Sky or Jasmin.

She just says here is a possibility to sing it in English.
When I understand what is she singing about - this song looses its magic. Finnish does suit this song and it would be a shame to hear it's english version on stage in may.

There goes my support! Why would one want to vote for her and then get something else in return? As if we voted for English? xshrug Gosh I will never get the "logic" of these sell-out acts.

Then she should have sent an entry in English instead to begin with and not fool the public. Acting like this is just disrespectful to the fans of the entry. I think the least an act thinking of changing the language of their entry could do is to see what fans want. Sorry Jasmin, the fans support your entry as it is now! That's what they vote for and that's what they want! In English this looses all its charm and character, Finnish and English are way too different from eachother that this could impossibly be a good thing to do.

Jasmin NOT ftw! She doesn't deserve it any longer!

Go Mikko xcheer

Jasmin isnt saying shel sing it in English shes saying she can sing it in English. She probably wants more people to understand the song so they will vote for her.The online voting is open to anyone. It makes sense for her to try to attract as many votes as possible.
I agree for Copenhagen if she won she should keep it as it is but nothing wrong with her trying to attract more fans and votes at this stage.

Re: FINLAND 2014

Maybe, I'm just afraid that one of the winners from the first two heats might win in the end xshrug

I'd be happy with Hanna winning, but Hukka Ja Mama would be a travesty. I'll never understand what the Finnish see in that type of music.

I don't understand how she'll attract more fans by turning off the ones who are already supporting her entry xshrug

But you might be right, this might just be one of those silly promos in English (that we all know by now means nothing really and have very little impact on results and support), so if she wins and insists on keeping the Finnish version for ESC then it's all fine... but she already show signs of being in two-minds on it...

Hukka didn't win their heat though, that lame boyband did.

Oh and I'd chose Hukka any day over Hanna and what's their name...

Yeah, I keep forgetting about them. I keep getting it in my head that Hukka won the first heat. Yes, Softengine are NOT good.

I guess it's not a good sign if something is forgettable

So we agree on that atleast ;)

Softeingin >>>>> A friend in london, Sinplus

All of those names sucks

Being better than A Friend in London or Sinplus is hardly an accomplishment

Re: FINLAND 2014

Based on the heat performances, I can't look past Softengine for winning. The others with good songs (Mikko Pohjola, Jasmin Michaela, Dennis Fagerström) all were a letdown one way or another, whereas Softengine really couldn't go wrong just being themselves with a good song. Hanna Sky… I hope not. The song is one long yawn, even though she is a good singer.

Tonight, I hope the three from the parenthesis will up their game and give Softengine some competition in my book. All of them were ahead of Softengine at first, but then Something Better hit me and they didn't' do too well in their heats. However, last year several acts improved the second time around, especially Great Wide North, so I'm hoping to see some of that. This year it'll matter more than it did for GWN, because last year we already had a top three ready by then, whereas this year lacks a clear public favourite (or one at all, really).

Also, I'd be really happy to see young energy with a good song from us this year after 2013, when we sent an admittedly genuinely excited Krista Siegfrids but with a plain bad song and act when there were several better songs available.

Re: FINLAND 2014

I can never get over Softengine winning the 1st heat, and them beating Hukka Ja Mama is the only thing I like about it.

But I think Jasmin should keep the Finnish version if she wins the national final. I'll listen to the English version, though, but I'm still supporting her anyway.

Re: FINLAND 2014

A good second chance round in Finland. There are many fun and varied songs. I love all the songs except "God / drug" by MIAU, which I think is a messy song and should be eliminated.

My big favorites for tonight:

- Clarissa feat. Josh Standing – Top of the world
- Dennis Fagerström – My little honey bee (I seem to be the only one who likes it.)
- Jasmin Michaela – Kertakäyttösydän
- Lauri Mikkola – Going down

Good luck Finland!
