Holy moly ... Congrats, Costa Rica ... this group became exciting again, I guess. Now I can only hope that Germany gets at least one point today and that Japan beats Spain in the last group match ...

Disappointed in Japan. Even at the cost of conceding goals at the beginning, he should have played vigorously. This was the game to win. Costa Rica made a careful game and hit only once but lethally. Germany now have a few more chances but it depends on what happens tonight against Spain who want to close the qualifying session. Japan in the next round could find a sated Spain and win a lethal draw (lethal if Germany loses tonight). If they finish on equal points for Germany, the goal difference (with Japan) will count and they will not lose against Costa Rica (which sees the hopes of passing the round rekindled and cannot make any other calculations than winning since their goal difference is very bad).

I also expected Japan to have a hard time scoring on this match. Costa Rica is a different rival compared to Germany and they don't leave a lot of room for Japan to maneuver when attacking because their game is primarily focused on defense. But I definitely didn't expect Costa Rica to win in the end. This group will be super-interesting until the end now!

What a play from Morroco, definitely the best African team on this World Cup. This team was great on the last World Cup as well, they deserved much more. But these two matches clearly show that Morroco is a dark horse and a strong contender.

Yes, I am aware that Belgium will be our next game but I want their spirit crushed. And also, they would have to attack and open up.

And yes, I do know about points in our group but never been big on calculations.

*all under condition we beat Canada. If we don’t, then who cares about match with Belgium.
