Some problems with Iranian team, apparently the federation doesn't want Quieroz to call Taremi and Azmoun 'cause they're against the current regime while Quieroz wants to call them to national team

:ca: squad is revealed

Goalkeepers (3): Milan Borjan (Red Star Belgrade), Dayne St. Clair (Minnesota United), James Pantemis (CF Montreal).
Defenders (7): Steven Vitoria (Chaves), Alistair Johnston (CF Montreal), Richie Laryea (Nottingham Forest/Toronto FC on loan), Kamal Miller (CF Montreal), Sam Adekugbe (Hatayspor), Joel Waterman (CF Montreal), Derek Cornelius (Panetolikos).
Midfielders (8): Atiba Hutchinson (Besiktas), Jonathan Osorio (Toronto FC), Stephen Eustaquio (FC Porto), Liam Fraser (Deinze), Samuel Piette (CF Montreal), Mark-Anthony Kaye (Toronto FC), Ismael Kone (CF Montreal), David Wotherspoon (St. Johnstone FC).
Forwards (8): Alphonso Davies (Bayern Munich), Jonathan David (Lille), Cyle Larin (Club Brugge), Ike Ugbo (Troyes), Lucas Cavallini (Vancouver Whitecaps), Tajon Buchanan (Club Brugge), Junior Hoilett (Reading), Liam Millar (Basel).

I didn't know Hutchinson is still active, he must be around 50 years old

Davies is listed as forward here... he actually plays on the forward wings for Canada, but as we know he can also play as Left Back. He and Jonathan David are certainly the key players here. Eustaquio is very solid too.

The defense looks weak but they are usually well-organized as a collective

Interesting team anyway

Amine Harit one of Morocco's key players just had an awful injury in the OM/Monaco game, he'll probably miss World Cup

It's official, he'll miss the World Cup and most of the season

Devastated for him, he fought so hard to get his place in the team again and on the last game before he takes the plane this happens

His teammates and coach declarations were also heartbreaking, you can feel they were sad even if they won the game

Missing such an event 'cause of an injury is awful

Yeah okay this is solid on paper, doesn't look like a team that got smashed by Comoros in the AFCON

I still don't trust them

4 days from WC, here's my wish for groups :

A : Senegal/Neds
B : Iran/Wales
C : Poland/Saudi Arabia (like both equally so can't chose which 1st and which 2nd tbh)
D : Denmark/Tunisia
E : Germany/Japan
F : Morocco/Belgium obviously
G : Swiss/Cameroon (like them equally and also like Serbia a lot so wouldn't mind them making it)
H : Ghana/South Korea

Of course it won't happen like that, but yeah I like underdogs

Zaroury is the one who'll take Harit's place in Morocco that's official

Don't really know him, curious to see what he can bring

I religiously watch both the Euro's and the World Cup, however the choice of hosts for this World Cup really does play with my morals. Choosing Russia & Qatar for the 2018 and 2022 tournaments really did wonders for FIFA's public relations with women and the LGBT+ community. I shall obviously watch and cheer on the Three Lions, but I'll do so with the knowledge that the hosts of this tournament do not deserve such a privilege.

Such as Germany. But this time they are underdogs indeed. :ROFLMAO:

My wish list (quite similiar to yours):

A : Senegal/Netherlands
B : Wales (only)
C : Poland/Mexiko
D : Denmark/Tunisia/Australia
E : Germany/Japan/Costa Rica
F : Morocco/Belgium/Croatia
G : Swiss/Cameroon/Serbia
H : Ghana/South Korea

I am also especially hoping for some surprising moments again, some underdogs coming far! Many people believe that this time Argentinia will take the trophy, but I hope there will be a huge surprise! :)

I am not certain yet if I will see matches: I still feel guilty doing so, so may just see the summaries. And I am working a lot anyway around the time most of the matches are played. May the best one win!

I always support the Nordic countries, so my main favorites in this cup will be Denmark. I'm very disappointed that Sweden didn't make it this time.

Another country that I usually cheer for in football is Croatia. Since their great performance in 1998 and even before that. I was happy that they reached the final of the last cup. I wish Wales the best of luck too. I was amazed by Canada from qualifying, so I'll be paying more attention to them and keeping my fingers crossed too. I don't know why, but I like Far East countries Japan and South Korea in football.

Otherwise, I'm for the underdogs. Of the big football nations I usually like is Italy but they didn't make it either.

I'm disappointed that Cameroon didn't include Fabrice Ondoa as at least a third (or fourth) goalkeeper. It was the only chance to get a Latvian league player on the World Cup roster. He was the star of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, now plays for FK Auda.

My wishlist:

A: Senegal, Ecuador (Netherlands are O.K. too, but they are favorites of the group, will cheer for them if they qualify and play against bigger favorites)
B: Wales, USA
C: Mexico, Argentina (or Poland but they eliminated Sweden in qualifiers)
D: Denmark, Australia
E: Japan, Costa Rica
F: Croatia, Canada (or Morocco, they would be in my top-2 in any other group)
G: Serbia, Switzerland (wouldn't mind Cameroon either)
H: South Korea, Uruguay
