Todays games:

:th: - :de: 22 CET
::ci - :no: 22 CET
:nl: - :ca: 1:30 CET
::na - :nz: 1:30 CET

Well the first two games shouldn't be so exciting....or well the exciting part is can Ivory Coast and especially Thailand hold it down under 10 goals :lol: Please Germany crush Thailand tonight. :(
Group A games is though really exciting where every team still got a great shot to qualify! :D

Congratulations Germany, Norway, Canada, China and problably Netherlands to getting to the round of 16. :) Poor New Zealand who played so brave but didn't get it through. :(

Matches of tonight:
:ch: - ::cm 23 CET
:ec: - :jp: 23 CET
:ng: - :us: 2 CET
:au: - :se: 2 CET

Some interesting matches here, especially Australia vs. Sweden, maybe the most important game for our girls in history. We need to win this match, so that we can get 2nd and meet Brazil in the next round. A draw may work, but then results in the other groups must go our way, but if we lose it will be one of the biggest flops ever. I hope we make it through. :confused:

First of all.. I'm pretty happy for China, they were my favorite team in group A. I loved how they played against Netherlands. They should have score more goals in that match.
I tried to watch the group A matches last night but after 25 minutes I fell asleep, so I can't judge about the matches. It's noticeable that Canada really struggled in every game they played so far. It reminds me a but of :de: 4 years ago... Althouh we won at least the first three matches, we played very nervously and uptight. The fact that we hosted the cup wasn't positive for our girls.. the media generated an artificial hype during the world cup (they made comparisions to the Men's World Cup 2006 and stuff like that) and obviously the team couldn't stand the pressure. I think Canada's main problem is that they rely too much on their superstar Sinclair

Talking about the matches of tonight... unfortunately once again the interesting matches have very late kick-off times. Nonetheless I'll try again to keep myself awake. This is a strong group and every team is good enough for the Round of 16.
Since the situation is very serious, :se: will finally show its true face and they will defeat :au:
Probaby :us: will be good enough to beat :ng: . Australia will be one of the best 3rd places and Nigeria will have to travel back home.

I agree on Canadas problem. Canada has really good players, but it is like they are expecting Sinclair to do the job, but since she hasn't even been close to her best in the group stage, then others has to take a step forward, some has, but most hasn't there. It will be a problem for them if they doesn't do that.

About us, I really hope you are right, but it feels like the team doesn't "care" or what to call it. Our Coach Pia Sundhage has already started to say that she will leave her job after this tournament, and I feel that is the most stupid thing you can do, since it destroys the spirit for the players. Add that Australia has played really well, especially offensively and even if we beat them in the quarterfinal four years ago with 3-1, it won't be that easy this time around.
My gutfeeling says it will end in a draw, which could still work, but then it will be too nervewracking tomorrow. :(

Awful. Absolutely awful. We may be one of the most complicated teams this year, our passing is horrendous and we can't even get a single pass to Lotta Schelin right. Sure, it ended in a draw, but it is almost that I don't wanna see us getting through. I rather see Costa Rica and South Korea passing than us. :( Will be a rough night tomorrow.

I wonder what the FIFA is gonna do if Costa Rica draws 1:1 against Brazil and reaches the 3rd place because there is a winner in the other match. Then Costa Roca has 3 points and 4:4 goals, just like Sweden. How will they decide which team qualifies for the Round of 16? I guess they gotta draw it, dont they?

Yes, in that case they would draw the team that qualifies... but I can't imagine that this case comes true

Yeah, it will be a draw if so. Brazil should win over Costa Rica, but now when they already are secured in first place and they are one of the more sloppy teams in the highest rankings, I got a feeling that they "don't mind" if Costa Rica wins. :(

Our chances now lies with these three matches.

Colombia must win over England.

The match South Korea-Spain has to end in a draw.

And Brazil must win over Costa Rica or at least get 0-0.

Also, in Sweden we are afraid of Costa Rica when it comes to football. In the Mens World Cup 1990, we were in a group with Brazil, Scotland and Costa Rica. After losing to the first two, we needed to win the third game against Costa Rica...but just like the other two games it ended 2-1 for Costa Rica, a big surprise and we were out in World Cup...
Costa Rica got the chance again of pushing us out in the competition again....Sad cause I like the Costa Rican team. :(

THANK YOU BRAZIL! :D And congratulations to England and Korea to have qualified! :D

The round of 16 looks like this:

::na vs. ::cm 21/6 - 1:30 CET
:us: vs. :co: 23/6 - 2 CET
:de: vs. :se: 20/6 - 22 CET
:fr: vs. :kr: 21/6 - 22 CET
:br: vs. :au: 21/6 - 19 CET
:jp: vs. :nl: 24/6 - 4 CET (wow, Japan must have bought that time :lol:)
:no: vs. :en: 22/6 - 23 CET
:ca: vs. :ch: 22/6 - 1:30 CET

Wow, that this day has been pretty painful, but in the end, we are through at least so a total sham it isn't this year! :D

Congratulations to Germany and China for going through last night.
I don't think we ever have been so overplayed by Germany before, but this wasn't our cup at all, nothing went our way. And we will problably miss olympics, since I am sure that France beats South Korea and Norway should beat England at least. :(

My love Cameroon didn't get things together against China, who played really well last night. Though I think they will have big problems in the quarterfinal if now USA beats Colombia, which they should.

Todays games:
:br: vs. :au: 19 CET
:fr: vs. :kr: 22 CET
:ca: vs. :ch: 1:30 CET

Interesting games where I guess that Australia, France and Canada wins. ;)

I missed the Australia game today, but had a quick look when France and Canada won. No question in those matches who were the best teams there! :D

Tonights matches:
:no: vs. :en: 23 CET
:us: vs. :co: 02 CET

USA should win over Colombia rather easy, but the first match is really hard to guess...I hope that England wins, cause then Sweden can still go to the Olympics, but my gutfeeling is that Norway is way stronger. :(

Some words to the previous matches

:de: vs :se:

Great win for our girls! Full domination from the beginning and they didnt lose control. Sweden couldn't compete with the speed our attacks and it seems we are in a good condition. After the group stage I wasn't sureif we are good enough to win the world cup this time but after this match I'm confident that we have good chances. To be honest Sweden was disappointing the whole tournament but they still managed to draw against USA and you don't simply beat a Swedish national team with 4:1 goals :D
:fr: is our next opponent and this will be a very difficult match. Germany vs France is worth to be the final but unfortunately they meat each other already in quarter final. And the match of my dreams, :de: vs :us: isn't a possible final match either, the schedule really sucks this time

China winning against Cameroon and Canada winning against Switzerland wasn't surprising, however Canada still doesn't convince me. They play mediocrely

Australias win against Brazil is a little sensation but matches like those are the reason why we love this sport. I assumed before that Brazil isn't a title contender this time and I was right. Australias is meanwhile a respectable team. 4 years ago they knocked out Norway and now they beat Brazil. I think they will be an unpleasant opponent also for the World champions Japan in the quarter final.

Today I can only watch :en: vs :no: but this is maybe the most balanced match in this round so it gonna be exciting. I think this match might last 120 minutes. :)

Planning to watch :no: vs. :en:, btw I've seen a bunch of players in this competition that I believe would do much better job than some so-called footballers in our team.

And I need to say that I fell for the team coach of Costa Rica, too bad they got eliminated already. :oops:

I hope we will participate in the next competition (Euro 2017 if possible), it's much more entertaining to watch :)

And lastly; I'm cheering for :jp:.

Great match by England yesterday night! :D They really killed Norways offensive play and answered quickly when Norway eventually score. Congratulations and thank you for helping us a bit closer to a Olympic Qualification! ;)

Colombia was playing really well and closed down the americans so that they became totally furious in the first half. In the 2nd half, sad to see the keeper getting the red card and after that Colombia never was close of getting back. Congrats USA, but I don't think you can play like that against the strongest defense in the whole competition, China. ;)

Tonight only one game:

:jp: - :nl: 4 CET

Too bad I can't see it (I am yet to watch Japan in this tournament, STOP PLAYING SO DAMN LATE!!) I hop though that Japan wins so it will be a Olympic qualification between Sweden, Norway, Switzerland and Netherlands in february! :D
