My mistake, sorry :p So :it: won with :mx: 2-1, and :es: did it with Uruguay, also in 2-1. Today we will have a Tahiti - Nigeria. I wonder, how many goals they will score :D

Only 6-1

I guess for a team like Tahiti it's not really bad to score at least a goal but I'm looking forward to the next games :D

That was the same result as Germany trashed Ireland in the WC qualifiers.

Tbh, both Nigeria and Tahiti were miserable. Nigeria had 3 more 100% unmissable chances! Plus their goalie isn't very good, but still 1000x better than the goalie from Tahiti. I expect Spain to improve their biggest win record. As for Uurugay, Suarez and his team will underestimate Tahiti and probably win with 3-0.

I'm not sure what match you were watching. Tahiti weren't miserable. Their goalkeeper made a few great saves to keep the score respectable, and some of Nigeria's goals were just really unlucky for the islanders (one iirc deflected off the referee and two players). When they had the ball, they went forward and tried to score, which eventually paid off. They had a couple of great chances to score which they unfortunately missed. They showed great attacking intent, and although they were obviously no match for Nigeria, they really made a good game out of it. Euopean teams like San Marino and Andorra try to defend for 90 minutes and show no intention of scoring, Tahiti worked their asses off trying to get a moment of glory. For a side of amateurs, they played fantastically. Nigeria were abysmal though. They easily could have scored 10 if they bothered getting out of first gear...
It was great too to see the Brazilian crowd cheer when Tahiti scored. Football fans love a good underdog.

They were in the defense. The goalie wasn't good. He maybe saved few chances, some of them because of the Nigerians clumsiness (or maybe because they were underestimating Tahiti and wanted to go inside the net with the ball). The goalie conceded a goal by his mistake and made one more terrible mistake when one ball was thrown near the corner. So he wasn't good against Nigeria. Even the commentators here were talking how his inexperience for such an event made him tremble. xshrug
Plus, Tahiti has played better before against Australia, New Caledonia, Solomon Islands and New Zealand. xshrug
Though, I agree that they went for the attack, unlike Andorra (which is the worst team ever with their game play). And I was hoping that Tahiti will score 1 more goal, as they had a great chance with a header. I do applaud them for the team spirit and their goal celebration, especially since most of them are working in hotels are accountants and what not. :)

Pity for Japan! :( Though, you have to be a talent to screw up a 2-0 lead and end up chasing a tie. xfacepalm xgaah

Turkey vs. Czech Republic, EURO 2008

But yeah, I don't get what is it with Italy... in qualifying and friendly matches they are very mediocre as a team, but when they are in a tournament, they always get lucky...
