This qualification announcement system will make bigger name artists from non big 5 countries a lot more hesitant to do Eurovision too, there are zero positives to this other than people that are obsessed with mess and drama and they are usually obnoxious and not worth pleasing to begin with

At the end of the day these associations are all the same sadly ... the EBU, FIFA, IOC, ... they all just want the money and that's pretty much it.

It most likely wouldn´t change a lot but the next supervisor shouldn´t be from Scandinavia but from a different part of Europe. The way it is at the moment is a big "Klüngelei" as we say in German.

I honestly doubt that he came up with that all alone. It's not like the sv is an absolute ruler. Pretty sure that at least the big 5 members greenlit this decision.

Seriously though, one of the charms and selling points of Eurovision has always been that it's just not yet another Xfactor kind of entertainment. And indeed, it isn't - being told off on all the Voices and Idols might be very heartbreaking, but it never happens in front of 200 000 000 people and possibly a decade of trying to get to that stage (looking at you, LotL, Samantha Tina and so many others).

Truly insensitive shitty decision. I don't know who came up with the idea, but there's certainly one person who must have approved the final outcome.

I know we arent supposed to post leaks but this is a monumental change worth discussion and condemnation, just look at Mimicat here. The EBU cannot pretend to care about the health and wellbeing of artists and then do something like this

Also, it is possible that BBC or someone from there originally suggested this idea and the EBU was just like "hmm yeah that sounds good" or something.

This is definitely going to add to the drama for the qualifiers and it will make great television. But this is such a controversial change to the Eurovision semi -finals. I have mixed feelings about it because I can't help but feel that this could be really cruel on the ones that fail to qualify.

They will announce Sweden, Finland, Norway, Israel, and Moldova first and then the rest of the finalists... I am just watching it.
"All qualifiers are announced in a random order" :sneaky:
I could bet my ass that they are gonna keep Finland till the end.
