^I think the winner could be other than those 3 :D maybe we'll have a surprise winner, as we had in 2006, when nobody expected Finland to win.

I did. Quite a lot of people thought Finland could and/or would win actually. It wasn't as big as a longshot and unexpected win as some people seem to think. It just wasn't one of the foremost forerunners in the minds of the most conservative of viewers and oddsmakers.

Well, Finland was an all-or-nothing in 2006. When I heard their song I knew it would win, but I could be dead wrong.

This is something i completely agree with.

I also predicted that we will go to Helsinki in 2007. To me, their victory wasn't surprising at all, but for that time, it was thought that only something popish/folkish, or rockish with some hot dancers and (in case it's a song sung by a female) hot chick could win ESC in MOST of the cases. But we can say that in that time it was funny that someone was predicting that the song like the one Lordi had would win.

I think it is a very deserved winner too.

I would have thought that Finland would do really well, once I saw them singing. As for this year, I think the winner will be like in 2005. Back then there was no clear winner and remember how the voting at the beginning was scattered (Latvia, Switzerland, Israel and Malta taking the lead, until Greece overpassed them).

In the beginning also Romania was first. :p I remeber I was shocked seeing Romania 1st and Moldova 2nd in a certain moment of the voting procedure. :D Greece was about 14th-16th.

Denmark is so much overrated. I can't understand why

I second that

I mean it's a nice song and all, it's pleasent to listen to, but i don't know how come it became such a huge favorite......we had all this on every single ESC, nothing new and outstanding here.

I think winner could be Germany or Azerbaijan and of course I want Croatia to win, but unfortunately I don't see a big chance. I have a feeling that Germany will win. I'd bet on them.

Since 2006 (when Finland won), Germany has been the worst country at the ESC. We never win. Usually.

However, if I were to bet, I would bet that one of the following countries wins this year (in alphabetic order)

- Armenia
- Azerbaijan
- Germany
- Turkey

Not my personal Top 4, but I can't imagine any other entry as a winner.

Yeah but this year Germany has a great song. And I also forgot Armenia.
I just have a hunch about Germany and I also love the song. But I hope that I'm wrong and that winner will be Croatia

It would appear to be a very open year and many songs have a chance to win.
This UK-based blog site does excellent Eurovision betting analysis: http://www.entertainmentodds.com/
And put together an amusing video prediction of top 5:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PUI4TSCYHg

Very interesting analysis there. According to them, the dark horses of 2010, or the entries that "have a chance of getting in the shake up" are:

Turkey
Slovakia
Romania
Ukraine
Iceland
Moldova

Countries like Azerbaijan, Germany, Armenia, Israel...are already hot favorites to win, but I agree that those entries mentioned above could produce the "surprise" (to be in top 10, or even to win).

Havent logged on for a while - but we are getting closer to the big week of Eurovision. Azerbaijan and Germany still favourites. Have a sneaky feeling Croatia may do well - very catchy song.

There is quite an interesting market on Betfair where you can bet on any country to get into the top 4.
Who will finish in the Top 4 of the Eurovision Song Contest 2010?

If you can find a country from the betting who will end up in the top 4 ( you dont need to find the winner) you can get very good odds. E.g SWEDEN 8.2 - CROATIA 4.2 - DENMARK 4.8

I have a feeling that Sweden and Croatia may do better than expected. If you join Betfair through certain sites you also get a free no lose bet.

I am slightly unsure of the overall winner so this from a betting point of view looks this best option to make a bit of cash. If for example you cannot see Germany not being out of the first 4 you can double your money at no risk - there are around 2.02 to be in the top 4, so 10 euros would give you 20 euros in return if Lena and Satellite were in the top 4.

Hope that makes sense but any questions give me a shout.

According to this, if you have some money, play for Turkey and be rich!
I already did. Turkey's victory will give me 440€ :D
It's also worth to bet on Slovakia finishing in top4 (8.4) and Germany for top4 (1.9)

Both Denmark and Sweden imo are in with a shout - especially each way 1-2-3 or top 4 with some. Will Greece get some sympathy votes if their Euro crisis continues?
