The Macedonian national team played couple of friendly games as a part of the preparations for the EuroBasket in Lithuania. Macedonia lost in Slovenia with -9 goals, followed by a win with +9 over Poland.
Then, Macedonia lost to Italy with 89:70 in the Bormio tournament, followed by an impressive win over Canada with 72:65 with the second squad.
Macedonia went with their second squad in Slovenia for another tournament, where they lost to Bosnia with 50:55, Serbia 81:73 and finally with Montenegro 67:57.
I am glad Macedonia lost from Bosnia and Montenegro with this team. And clearly they weren't trying, knowing that both teams are in our group and we have to beat them later on. Overall, I am happy with how the preparations went. Now we have to be complete for the other games and start winning.

:rs: defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and Croatia last night in a tournament of ex-yu countries, and thus we won the first place :D Well done to our guys xcheer :D xcheers

This is still not what the Serbian national basketball team can do, but a general form is rising from match to match, and will be just like it must be on the championship. I would lie if I'd say I don't hope for a medal on this championship :D It will be very hard, but we have one of the best teams in Europe and the World itself, so we have our chances.

Macedonia won the home "Trofej Makedonija" tournament. They defeated Montenegro with 79:74 and New Zealand in the last match with 68:67. This was a nice run for them. Next stop is Berlin, with a friendly against Germany. Should be fun!

In a friendly game in Munich, Germany - Macedonia 70:68. Ahh, :mk: was very close!!  They had +10 in the third quarter, but lost in the final moments of the game. I think this was a good game. Germany played with Nowitzki. There is another friendly between these two in Berlin on the 28th.

^^Yaaay go Turkey! xcheer Türkiye Türkiye! :D I'm excited. We weren't good in preparation matches. We got better later though. I hope our team can do their max performance and be successful. I believe they can do it.

:rs: defeated :it: with 80-62 :D Serbia was quite bad in the preparation matches, I even became a skeptic after the last duels, but what our players showed against Italy today gives me hope for the next matches. Some things still have to improve though, especially the percentage of 2-point shooting and the defense. 1st match is always full of pressure on both sides, so it is a huge thing that we won at the start of the championship :D

Tomorrow, we are playing against Latvia.

Lithuania and Great Britain tonight. Can't wait! I'm for Lithuanians of course and my English teacher who is British is for his home country. We made a deal that if Lithuania wins, he buys me my favourite chocolate and if Britain wins, I do it for him. This makes the match even more excited. So I hope Lithuanians will win and I will get a bar of chocolate for free. :D

^^ I think your teacher can buy an extra chocolate now, as I personally see no way of UK defeating Lithuania in basketball (especially on the home ground) :D

Croatia vs Finland 84-79. Well, what to say? Not really impressive game, our defense could do muuuuch better....a lot of oscilations, as it is more-less usual.....I would say "let's oversleep this and a new chance is tomorrow", this time against Macedonia.

Germany played well against Israel and won clearly. Nowitzki (Dallas Maverkis) + Kaman (L.A. Clippers) were the best scorers.

:me: - :mk: 61:61 (70:65 after extra time). Ouch, I think this was the decisive match for :mk:. However, I am sure we could win over Croatia. Two years ago Croatia was pretty hot and cold (win then loose ). Hopefully we'll win, but I don't expect much though. :p
