:rs: football is better than :gr: football.
There is so much corruption and violence in Greek Superleague that eventually affects the naational team too. And the manager our national team has is a joke. I think there is no hope for Greek football.

We have good basketball but there is so much corruption on everything in this country that it will turn into a chaos too.

:fi: are definitely in the mix for top 2 in their group.

Players like Uronen, Kamara, Pukki, Saprv, and goalie Hradecky have been very good for them over the past year and a half or so.

It would be great to see my fav country participating in Euro 2020. It wouldn't just be great, but it would also give football a huge boost in Finland

I think the 1:3 vs :ee: at Home 2010 and the missed Qualification for EC 2012 in a very weak Group was a bigger Humilation.
:rs: will probably qualify through the Nationsleague though. :ua::pt: are very strong at the Moment.

You are right, that match against :ee: was quite a debacle indeed, although from a results perspective, this one tops them. Back then, we had some positive things around the team (still), right now there are none.

The cult of the national team doesn't exist at all in :rs: and basically no "casual" viewer wants to buy tickets at all. Likewise, no serious coach wants to work with these corrupted criminals in the Association.

That's why I don't expect them to sack Krstajić. He listens well, they are choosing the team instead of him, and his membership in the party is what keeps him on the bench.

I think :lu: has a great chance to beat us if he remains on this position.

Yes, I can understand everything, that's what happens here as well. I think we are in a similar situation, except our basketball is still in a relatively good shape (less money for them to steal and strong tradition).

But at least in :gr: you don't have a president of the country appoiniting coaches and dictating which club will be the champion (and it will always, of course, be the club that he supports).

Serbian football (and Serbian fans) just deserve so, so much better than this. They won't come through the Nations League either playing this way, I think all of Finland, Norway and Scotland would be serious challenges given the current situation. The whole system is rotten to the core, and needs a total overhaul.

In terms of teams on the up, I'm really excited for Finland and Luxembourg at the moment. Luxembourg has twice the population of Iceland, so there's no reason why they shouldn't be able to challenge for qualification to major tournaments in the future. If Iceland can do it, anyone can. As for Finland, with players like Pukki operating at such a high level, they should be aiming[/] to qualify via their group for 2020. They can beat everyone in there except for Italy, and just need to be less prone to slip ups than Greece to make it. Again a country with a lot of potential for the future.

President Vučić said today that players and coach are the ones responsible for the debacle in :ua:  After that he added "I have appointed everyone in the Football Association and they did the best job in the history of :rs: football. Therefore, I am not responsible for this result".

He basically confirmed that he is interfering with sports in :rs: as if that was the most normal thing ever  He confirmed everything that I wrote here. I wonder if there is another country where the president is choosing who will be in the Football Association, who will be the coach, who will play, etc.........I doubt it. But this dictator wants control over everything and he has it.

Poor Krstajić, so much glorification of this....individual and this is the payback that he is getting  Last night he said: "I have shown how good I am with this victory against :lt: Only jealous people can accuse me of silly things". Well done coach, we are proud of you.

Oh dear, Greece...

The upshot of that defeat is it means qualification is WIDE open for Finland. They have to beat Greece in their next game, though.

Good match and deserved win for Iceland, who seriously became something like a nightmare for Turkey. Having said that, Turkey is still in a better position and France will qualify anyway. it's a rocky road for Iceland this time...

I am also happy to see Finland performing so well. It seems like they can actually qualify for a major tournament for the very first time! They beat Bosnia, Armenia and Liechtenstein and they can also beat Greece

The manager of the Greek national football team needs to be sacked immediately otherwise the damage will be big. I seriously believe that he is probably having mental problems.

Yeah, can't really keep your job after losing at home to Armenia. :(

Greece even scored more than 1 goal which makes the result even more baffling.

Its not only the defeat but his statements after the match shows that he is not serious.

It appears that Krstajić will lose his job after all as well (the president gave a green light with his statement yesterday), so he and :gr: coach can become good friends on the way out

Of course, people in the Associations will stay on their positions, they have no responsibility at all.

Congrats :ua: Ukraine on winning the U-20 World Cup! xcheer

This was really unexpected, but many congratulations Ukraine :)

I still wonder how South Korea reached the final, they did not play anything in the opening match with Portugal

:rs: U21 team also suffered a debacle and lost 6:1 from :de: . Completely deserved and in fact, it should have been 10:1 at least. Prior to this match, they lost from :at: with 2:0 (and realistically, it should've been at least 5:0 on that match as well)

Until this point, our younger selections were somehow unaffected by the level of corruption and amateurism in the senior team but this gets to show how deep all this went.

With this system and these people in their seats.........there is no hope for :rs: football.

At the Moment :fi: is the most likeliest Newcomer for 2020. :xk::il::ba: are also in the Race. In the Nationsleague-Playoff, :rs: and :xk: (if they dont qualify via EC-Quali) have good Chances.
