Wonder if it ever crossed your mind
That what we had was really unbelievable, unbeatable, a miracle
Why'd you have to go and mess it up?
Why'd you have to make what was unbreakable shakable, unsavable?
And now it's too late to cross your fingers
I'm wide awake and not a dreamer
Hate it, but it seems the dreams were never true
For a little while the fates were with us
Wonder why they had to turn against us
I could make a wish, but there is no use

I can feel
Even though I'm numb
The change to come will hurt someone
I can see
This time it isn't me
I might be the lucky one

I don't need a crystal ball to show me
Baby, it is plain that you don't know me
When it comes to you I'm better off alone (Better off alone)
I don't need a crystal ball to make me
Realize that if I stay you'll break me
Every sign is saying I should be gone
I should be gone

Thought I had a cloud over my head
It had to be my fault that it kept raining down
Until now, I figured out
That if I had the nerve to say goodbye
I could look for clearer skies up over head
Weather says sun instead

I don't need a crystal ball to show me
Baby, it is plain that you don't know me
When it comes to you I'm better off alone (Better off alone)
I don't need a crystal ball to make me
Realize that if I stay you'll break me
Every sign is saying I should be gone
I should be gone

I can feel (Even though I'm numb)
The change to come will hurt someone
I can see (I can feel)
This time it isn't me
I might be the lucky one

I don't need a crystal ball to show me
Baby, it is plain that you don't know me
When it comes to you I'm better off alone (Better off alone)
I don't need a crystal ball to make me
Realize that if I stay you'll break me
Every sign is saying I should be gone
I should be gone

Most of the women had pretty uncompetitive songs in this semi, unfortunately. Before the semi I thought Tanja would make it, but her live was pretty anemic so I figured she was in trouble. I think I got 5/6 from my prediction, with Tanja being replaced by Karl Killing.. but I thought this semi was pretty open anyway so 5/6 was better than I expected.

I think next week the ladies will have more success. :D Suured Tüdrukud & Sissi seem like qualifiers, Kadri might make it with help from juries, Gram-of-Fun has a chance. Uku & Jüri probably have two spots reserved, but the rest will most likely be women to balance out the sausage-fest in the final.

Anyways, I didn't find this semi too terrible or anything. Guess I was in a generous mood. Considering the current situation, it was a decent show, we've certainly had worse. No outright horrible vocals either, tho' Hans Nayna was a bit weak and Koit isn't really up to the task. I think his chances of beating Uku went down.. his voice isn't strong enough to pack a proper punch. Backing singers helped out, but something was definitely lacking in the vocal department. Guess we'll see what Uku & Jüri can bring to the table on saturday!

Good qualifiers, I just don't like "Wingman" from the qualifiers, I wished that Kristin would've qualified

But overall great job Estonia

Rooting for Heleza on saturday. I'm a bit afraid though because "6" is a really hard song to properly stage, but I'm hopeful ETV aren't wasting that great song.

Is it a coincidence that right after EL finished, I had the urge of heading to the toilet and defecate?

I think semi 2 results might go something like this..

For sure: Uku Suviste (not a very difficult guess)
Probably: Jüri Pootsmann (he has fans & it's a song the jury should like, unless he bungles the live performance completely), Suured Tüdrukud (Tanja flopping makes me a little more wary, but it's a more catchy song. Might need to be rescued by televoters in round 2 tho', can't see this being a jury favourite.)
Maybe: Gram-Of-Fun (should be up the juries alley & I can see some televote support), Kadri Voorand (this is mostly for the juries to carry, not sure how she'll fair with televoters. Good performance might be enough to help her sneak in tho'), Sissi (she made it with a pretty weak song last time, so good vocals & some fans could see her through again.)

I think Helen, Rahel & Uku Haasma don't have too much of a chance. Some juries might like Uku H, but there's plenty of other jury bait in this semi so I doubt it would be enough. Redel & Alabama Watchdog could surprise if they have impressive staging to help them.. but they would have had more of a chance in the first (weaker) semi. Not sure what to make of Heleza.. many foreign fans seem to love her, but I've seen nary a mention locally. Doesn't strike me as the type of song our televoters will go gaga over either. She might have a chance if the vocals/staging is good & jury likes her, but I think fans of her might want to prepare for disappointment.

So, I predict... round 1 of voting will be Uku Suviste, Jüri Pootsmann, Gram-Of-Fun & Kadri Voorand
Round 2: Suured Tüdrukud & Sissi
Maybe Sissi in round 1 instead of Kadri? In which case Kadri could be in trouble, but might still make it. Or get replaced by Redel.

I have liked this semi and I liked the qualifiers even more. I'd only replace Wingman with Calm Down, the others deserved it imo.

These results are terrible. The semi itself wasn't great and my favourite which was Ma olen siin at least managed to qualify. The rest of the men though here should have been bottoming tonight but they're all through apart from the band WIIRALT who had the only other song I enjoyed from this heat. The ladies were at least inoffensive for the most part, especially Nika Marula. It's strange how she couldn't advance.

Not wanting to dance anymore, but I must dance
I had to miss this, sadly, but color me shocked. I knew WIIRALT, Kristin, and Tuuli were long shots, but I thought Kea would qualify. Happy that Ivo & Robert with Supernova got in. Also...wait...

There we go.

Super stoked that Hans and Egert qualified, I really enjoyed their performances.

God, I forget how forgettable most of these songs are. My general thoughts on the performances:

- Tanja's performance seems OK, but then it's too late-2000s kinda of style. The song is just plain generic.
- Hans got a good voice but there is nothing much going on with the staging and I just can't connect with the song.
- Wiiralt's performance is actually OK but too bad the song is doing nothing for me.
- Kea is alright, but similar to Tanja's performance. The song is slightly better compared to Tanja's one.
- That "Wingman" song is painful and Romania 2018 have called and asked their mannequins back.
- On CD form, "Kiss Me" is my favourite song from this semi. But the 'live' performance is so disappointing. His vocals sound so different from the record version (which means his vocals on the record version were heavily edited). And the part he gave away the guitar but then the guitar chords is still playing in the back, it's so silly.
- "Calm Down" is actually not bad, the staging is at least interesting. But the overall performance still needs fine-tuning though.
- I not sure about Egert's performance. His vocals seem pretty weak, a little soft. The staging was boring at first but the second part with the snow makes it a little more interesting. The song is alright.
- Tuuli's vocals are really weak. The only interesting part of the performance is the cube LED screen/platform. For such a feel-good song, it felt lethargic. And I find the part where she acts like she is holding the camera and filming herself singing is so cringey.
- Koit's staging is simple but pretty effective. The song is actually good. But too bad he botched his vocals throughout the song. And he needs to stop looking into the camera and giving the smouldering look. It didn't work with "Verona". Plus they need to change the back-up vocalists outfit. They look like they just came out from a nightclub.
- Just no at Kristin's performance. Even the acrobats can't save it. One word, BORING.
- The best vocalist on the night. But too bad there is nothing going on with the performance and the song.

Nothing from tonight's performances screams winner to me. So disappointing.
The qualifiers are alright and kind of expected I guess. Would have switched "Wingman" with "Calm Down".

I feel so bad for some of the songs in semi 2. I think a lot of them are better than the ones that qualify in semi 1.

Thanks to the snippet of SF2 I remembered that my two favare there (6 and Heaven is not that far tonight). I think the only song I really liked yesterday evening was Ivo Linna's.

weird, Wingman is like one of the more impressive songs here for me, I don't get why so many ESC fans have this zero-tolerance attitude about hiphop.
