Increasing Diodato's chances of winning. :p

I'm summoned.

Diodato ain't winning anything even if Jesus resurrects and performs as his backing vocalist. He has more or less equal chances of winning as Uku, zero.

Even though it isn´t totally bad, I think they were better songs in the preselection. I´m disappointed to be honest. :(

You didnt answer my question. I assume that is because you dont have a good answer. Not Tomi Rahula`s supporter, but I also think it is unfair to blame anyone for something he/she can not affect.

And you saying "Estonia's music scene has just got magically awful in the last two years" is like me looking out of the window and seeing -5 degrees and snow everywhere and saying. "Well the climate change clearly is a China Hoax!!!"

If he can't affect it then what exactly is his job? If he's not responsible for the running of the show including the selection of the 24 (too many) songs then why is he there? Who picks the people who picks the songs if it isn't him? Why have these only been problems in the two years since he took over?

I said that the alternative to your postulation that Rahula has no part in the blame is that Estonia just organically got bad over the last two years, which is of course ridiculous because it IS his fault. If you're going to make ridiculous analogies at least learn to read, hunnie...x

50% of the songwriters can be foreigners. We've had plenty of them - Victor Crone co-wrote Traffic's song this year, for example.

If 50% of songwriters can be foreigners, might there be a possibility that somebody could register the entry without having to enlist all of the songwriters?

You mean like the rumors that Kontopoulos actually co-wrote this song with Vaughn? Well I imagine they have to list all of them and it would be cheating if they didn't. I don't know the exact details though or how thorough the EL people are checking this.

I just listened to "Beautiful Lie", it is just as bad. But at least it does not sound that dated than the winning song. The water droplets effects are pretty cool, but reminded me of Sailor Mercury.

Tumblr, mostly.
And Im pretty sure he will qualify. This Song is written for casual Viewers and professional Juries, not for Hardcorefans.
With each passing day, the more convinced I am Realest is an ESC juror parody account.

but i have to thank you.

Thank you for formulating exactly why Uku is in fact the worst of the year. A calculated, soulless, insidious attempt at jury pandering. An uncanny valley abomination to ensnare those without the willingness to think critically. (Ie: messy shallow gays and sex-starved fraus)

Fortunately 'What Love Is' is so typical and tepid that it has no appeal beyond physical attraction. It is only a matter of time until justice (sorry, Justice) happens and he finds himself curbstomped by a coven of Icelandic nintendo nerds.

Well, after one night I can finally comment on this entry.

I don´t have a problem with the song itself, and Uku is really a great singer. But did it REALLY have to win?? They had Jaagup, Traffic and Shira!! xfacepalm

I´m sorry, but the other songs were simply more memorable in my opinion. With this rather standard ballad it will be pretty difficult for :ee: to stand out.

I give this song :4:, it´s not terrible but simply to weak compared to the other songs chosen so far.

This is actually not as bad as it normally should be. Okay it feels like a 2004 song, not really ready for 2020, but I somehow don't mind having that kind of song again at Eurovision... 5 points from me

Jaagup Tuisk still would have been the better choice though :sneaky:

EDIT: Okay so I just rewatched the live performance of Beautiful Lie. Big robbery. Eesti Laul hast disappointed me on various occasions before and so are the doing this year unfortunately...

I'm downgrading to 2 points immediately

Every time I see a photo of Uku I instantly think of this

thumb_sol-ariversiren-every-guy-with-blue-eyes-looks-like-this-64283571.png

It's a shame I realised only recently I'm actually in the elusive 3% of our planet's population that has grey eyes (often by default lumped in with blue). I wish I could be that seductive cow.

Well the matter of fact is you dont know shit about Eesti Laul and how the songs are selected, so you are just throwing random shit against the wall in hope someting sticks.

So here is a short overview:

a) Tomi Rahula is "running the show", but no one is complaining about the quality of the show, nor does it matter or affect the quality of the songs that are sent to the show.
b) Jurors who select the first 24 songs have stayed pretty much the same over many years (minor changes if all).
c) Tomi Rahula has opened the door for more foreign input, which everyone (with an IQ) agrees should raise the quality.
d) Entry fee for Estonian language songs is half of the songs in foreign language.
e) 2 semi-finals take place outside of the capital city (I have not heard anyone complaining).

The matter of fact, when it comes to quality of the songs, is that we had a really bad year last year (still our winner made ESC Final). We had pretty average year this year, but probably selected one of the worst options (again not Tomi Rahula`s fault). Also grass is always greener in the past.

I mean that first paragraph was totally unnecessary and rude so I'm not going to bother reading the rest of it or indeed any of your posts ever again I don't need this negativity in my life good day............x

I was so sad Uku won... It would've been a great entry in 2004. I was rooting for Anett & Fredi in the Super Final, I liked that one since the beginning, probably my number 2 after Synne.

2 points for now to Estonia

Meanwhile i haven't said anyhting bad about Diodato recently but you can't accept the fact that some people don't like your country's entry!
Citelis, I accept that people appreciate other songs but do not accept the offenses and the comments prevented. Before determining whether a song is good or bad it must be listened to and understood, many admirers of other songs are now changing their opinions. I myself am changing some of my judgments. What makes me smile at your judgment is that you love the songs of Norway, Poland, if I remember correctly also Slovenia and Albania. You give them these prizes and you give Italy a miserable 2. The songs, more or less, are similar. So can you explain the 10 to one and a 2 to the other? Diodato's song doesn't seem so bad to me. I respect your choice but, if I am not mistaken, you who consider "The best in me" superior to that of Diodato ... here in Italy it is said "Do you happen to have ham-lined eyes?"; in this case, the ears are lined. Then ... I criticized your making friends with the caustic comments of ESCTurkey, Anaraqueen and Alaska49 (which as soon as he hears about Diodato begins to turn into "World War Hulk" xangry). However of all the haters you are the one I prefer. You at least are genuine. Finally ... what should I say ... our love is complex and made of exchanges of jokes xcryxheart... ah! Cupid never throws pleasant but painful arrows xangel, full of love but heartbreaking xgaah. Citelis, when Diodato will sing "Fai rumore" I will think of you! xrose xlove You who "make noise" inside my heart with those words so sweet and at the same time cruel "2 points for me" xcryxheart

If i like a ballad doesn't mean that i have to like every ballad exists but you really can't accept it! And i haven't said anything offensive about Italy's entry so you can't say i'm hater!

And i don't like Slovenia's entry!
