I think Estonian music in general is in a bland samey slump right now. Very beige all around.
That said, I'd say about 3-4 songs have a decent shot at qualifying. Probably not doing much beyond that, like last year. If Uku wins (and I suspect he might, it's the kind of cheese our televoters eat up and ask for seconds), he'll possibly be another Victor. Disliked by fans, yet makes the final and ends up somewhere on the right side at the end of the day.
The likes of Stefan or Jaagup could get jury support, if nothing else. I wonder how being so similar to last winner would hurt Jaagup's chances. If Tanja got dragged for being too much like Loreen (several years later), what would people say about him. Better brace for the avalanche of copycat accusations, should he actually win.
Also wonder how many more potential Arcade clones will be on their way.
In any case, still looking forward to the shows.
There are at least a few songs I'm rooting for, and things aren't completely hopeless on the qualification front. That said, I'd probably watch even if all the songs were hopeless garbage, out of pure curiosity.
Still OUR garbage and all that. The whole show/staging/competition part is still interesting to me, even if the songs aren't all that. Same with Eurovision in general, really.
