I still believed we might qualify, because the song deserves this, but actually even I didn't like the performance. The card trick was awkward and I hated the move he kept making with his hand. And overall it just wasn't very charismatic. Like it or not, but the performance matters.

He creeped the heck out of me - all those intense stares and no blinking, not comfortable to watch at all.

I could understand the concept of what Estonia werw going for but the execution and the singer didn't pull it off. Better luck next year xup

Tbh that "serial killer attitude" seems so significative to me. Jüri has shown a typical profile on his own way which makes him charismatic in a way. But it was just not good enough, or better say could be expressed better.

Very disappointed to see that Pootsmann and our delegation had not improved anything since Eesti Laul. Instead of fixing the awkwardness and unpleasantness that were so apparent in his Eesti Laul performances, they turned it up a notch. I can totally understand people being creeped out by that performance. And what was that playing cards theme about? And that ugly suit. Ugh...

Anyways, most of the show I kept thinking how good Mick Pedaja would have been on that stage...

This song is much better than the performance last night. I have to say the bad result is Jüri and his team's fault. :(

He was creepy and the staging didn't do anything for me.
The suit was 3 sizes bigger, he capt moving his hips like Jane Fonda in her fitness videos from the early 80's and It was all bad from there.

My favourite didn't qualify :( But I can understand why Azerbaijan appealed more to the common audience

Was 999% sure that he wont qualify... so no surprise for me.... but still i am a little bit sad for him...yes he has the voice... but
1)Semi1 had no friends
2)Semi1 was too strong
3)His casino/american theme staging
4)His acting.
Btw. it looked like he was making casting for Joker :D

Sigh... I wouldn't say we would've deserved to qualify over anyone else. This whole performance was very underwhelming and didn't stand out. It was simply bland compared to many others... In such a tough semi, it was obvious and fair. I would love to know what went wrong when they staged this... Jüri seemed uncomfortable (which probably are nerves, but...) and it definetly didn't live up to how this could've looked like. It necessarily probably wouldn't have saved us, but I would be a lot more satisfied if they had stuck with the dark staging of Eesti Laul or something similar. Everything doesn't need to be fixed... Who exactly was responsible for this. Budget issues aside, I'm sure there were other options. Anyways, I don't know. It sucks, but I can understand why this happened. Oh well.

But a huge thank you to everyone who supported us! I'm so glad Jüri has so many new fans now and that a lot of people loved him. That doesn't go to waste. xheart

I really didn't like how the song was staged and how he acted. Whatever he wanted to achieve, it didn't work for me.
This has fallen from 5th place before the show to 15th place in the semi for me.

This was just boring and staging goes nowhere

Well, this was surprising for me. I am not the biggest fan of the song indeed but it was good and it definetly did deserve the final. Maybe the fact that he was so cold and depressive-looking was what pulled people away from the song.

Unpopular opinion but I don't really see what was wrong with his performance. Yes clearly it wasn't his best one but yet it was much more better than other songs that qualified. Vocally he was very good imo and ok he was nervous indeed but I don't think that he looked creepy or anything like many people say, I actually liked his performance a lot tbh. Anyway qualified or not it's an amazing song, Juri is an awesome singer and Estonia remains my favourite.

I feel your pain Estonians, this would have qualified in any other Semi-Final in any other year. We knew Semi 1 would become a blood bath, and now it shows the victim was Jüri. I still like him and his performance, but I understand why he didn't qualify. The staging was kind of forgettable and he didn't deliver (enough) on the performance to really stand out.

Such a shame, but I hope :ee: will keep doing what it's doing with its national format and keeps sending class act like this! Then they will surely qualify again in 2017

If this couldn't manage to qualify, imagine how poorly the entries from the borefest that was Eesti Laul 2016 would've done.

I don't understand what happened with this. First it was in my top 10 but quickly fell from it and with the time I just stopped carrying about this song. I dunno. Maybe it fades too fast or smth. I'm confused. The staging didn't work and that card trick was pretty lame imo. Sorry.
