I liked that it wasn't a song with a load of dancers in it. It was different but also good. Instead cliche Eurovision like Iceland got through.

I'm seriously not surprised, and certainly not disappointed she didn't make it. It takes skill to do this, but this is supposed to be about music, not acrobatics or being able to sing while doing them. I see her failure as a clear statement from the voters - no more gimmicks like this please, send GOOD MUSIC instead! :geek:

It seemed too much again like a Euphoria imitation on stage - which is a shame as I stopped thinking that a while ago.

Especially since she didn't really sing that well. I love "Amazing" as the studio version but live it's pure crap.

Ok, I discovered the songs of the 1st semi yesterday, so I'll give my opinion on the Estonian entry this year :

Estonia is a schizophrenic country in ESC : they can either send rubbish like "Et uus saaks alguse", "Sirens" and "Leto Svet", or fantastic ones like "Rändajad", "Rockfeller Street" and "Kuula". This time it was middle of the road sadly. What a letdown! To me, Estonia usually sends the best entries among the Baltic countries. But what I saw yesterday didn't satisfy me at all. Tanja was sweet, her voice was ok-ish but the song was too average for my taste. The dance routine with the guy was nice (and pretty reminiscent of Euphoria imo) but that was all about it. I wasn't impressed at all and I was sure that Estonia would get to the final.

Finally not! What a surprise! In a way, that left the field to other entries which were more interesting, so i'm not too sad. This can grow on me a little but it won't do so well in my personal ranking.

Estonia, please come back stronger next year. The song wasn't up to what you can do.

I'll write a longer review/"post-mortem" in the coming days but shortly put: I'm happy with the result. I'm totally fine with not qualifying, especially if it allowed San Marino or Iceland or Montenegro to qualify.

See? You probably didn't read from the right sources. Song was never really very good to begin with, it relied solely on the performance. Shame, really, as you had very good songs in your national final. Still, I would have liked this to have gone through. But they did have problems in the jury rehearsal performance. I'm sorry.
Yes, I did see, I saw a lot of things but as I mentioned, I'll write a longer review soon. I will still stand by my sources and say that the jury rehearsal went well and did not affect the result. There were many other problems. Blaming it on a one bad performance is sore loser talk.

no more gimmicks like this please
Oh come on, it was the opposite of a gimmick. Azerbaijan's acrobatics, Ukraine's hamster wheel, Russia's seesaw, Montenegro's ice skater, etc. - those were gimmicks; singing and dancing is not a gimmick.

I think a cheap, poorly screeched dance song with a pretty woman being thrown around the stage is ten times more cliche than Iceland's song.

I do feel bad for Tanja though as she obviously has worked hard. This started as one of the few songs I really disliked this year to end as one that I now don't mind. The songs failure was always obvious and when I saw the rehearsal video everything was just further confirmed.

It was meant to look like a dance studio apparently. It didn't work.

 yes it really did, if only the background and the floor were just dance lights, they would've been qualified for sure :(

And the cameras, should've been more zoomed in to the artist instead of zoomed out to the stage :(

I really liked this performance on the night. I was not convinced with the staging and that could well have let her down. The singing and dancing although impressive may not have worked that good in the end.

Cute girl, great performance, nice beat. This deserved to qualify.

Agreed. I also loved the floor as well, different to anyone else and it really highlighted the two of them on stage and gave a luxurious impression.

To sum up the presentation in one word: classy. Too classy for some people if you look at stuff like Iceland qualifying.

Wow. Honestly think that if Estonia had performed in the second semi-final we would've gotten through..
