Re: ESTONIA 2012

Also last year there were weird lyrics like "Show is over, what's my name ? "
But i haven't checked out the lyrics of this year's songs yet.

Don't forget the awful "1 2 7 3, down the Rockefeller street" ... There doesn't even exist such a street.

Exactly, it fas a fantasy. There also is no river made of diamonds and pearls, if you didn't know already.

But the latter sounds poetic I guess, the Rockefeller Street thing just sounded randomly stupid and out of place imo. I think there's a difference.

I don't mind weird or random lyrics at all or poetical lyrics with metaphors and stuff, but that wasn't really the case her though. I think they genuinely thought it existed and that it would sound so "cool and American to refer to it", but it ended up like those movies where the characters speak in broken English to somehow symbolize that they are in a foreign (non-English) speaking country.

Anyways. No need to argue or anything, that's just my opinion.

Re: ESTONIA 2012

what a disappointing song by Orelipoiss. But it's more in ESC style as Valss. Valss was a national song. Valss I'd like to hear in every öölaulupidu (night song festival), just laulupidu (Song festival)..maybe. Anyway back to Zombi... I think I need to listen it more than once. You never know when it starts to like.

Cat eye - Ride... I loved the acoustic version, but those extra tunes ruined it all :( :(

:ee: selection is kind of weak, at least in my opinion.

I really like only 2 songs: "Kuula" (by Ott Lepland) and "You're not alone" (by Birgit Oigemeel).
Other OK songs are: "Fight for love" (by Janne Saar), "Made up my mind" (by Liis Lemsalu) and "Bye" (by Malcolm Lincoln).

Still waiting to hear "My love".. :D

Lenna - Mina Jään (studio version)

Because it's very loved song I wrote the translation of lyrics. I hope those are correct. i did my best :D

“I stay”
Voices abated in quietness,
blood in lips freezed of coldness.
Brantas have gone to journey for a long time,
they fly far.

Thousand stars fall down,
fall in to your eyes.

I stay,
yet to wait for your tracks on snow.
I stay,
yet to stay here in stormwinds.
To whisper your name,
to fly in your dream.
In secret.

Flakes fall on lids,
flows on cheecks as water.
In snowdarkness butterflies,
touch slightly arms.

Thousand stars fall down,
fall in to your eyes.

I stay,
yet to wait for your tracks on snow.
I stay,
yet to stay here in stormwinds.
To whisper your name,
to fly in your dream.
In secret.

Windseas with myself,
carries us to beginning.

I stay,
yet to wait for your tracks on snow.
I stay,
yet to stay here in stormwinds.
I stay,
yet appear on your shadow.
to whisper your name,
in secret.

Thanks for translation :)

I´m listen to "Kuula" the first time yesterday... well nice song, but not for the Eurovision, it´s more a lullaby...

What exactly does "nice but not for Eurovision" even means? I always find that argument weird. There's no restriction on genres in Eurovision.

If a song is nice then it's a good choice isn't it?

Hmm, you said it was a nice song. Maybe I misunderstood.

If you don't like it however of course I can understand your point, but I always read these type of comments and I don't really get them.

It's nothing personal against you (these comments are common), but I don't really get the "good... but not for Eurovision" argument, or maybe you just meant not good enough? Then fair enough.

The worst comment though is "too good for Eurovision"

So maybe i choose the wrong words. I´m not in love with this song i think he´s ok... But i think there are other songs which has a better chance (my opinion).
Hmm and maybe the song will win, maybe not.

Aha, well that cleared it up for me! Fair enough.

I thought you meant something else.
