Mii11 Sorry

Lol you're so nationalistic and obsessed with me and everyone who doesn't like some of Swedish songs  I was wrong, enjoy your qualification. Still think it will flop in the final :p

If I have to choose, the most shocking NON-qualifier of tonight would be Romania.

Austria joins Georgia as biggest robberies of this year. I just don't understand it. Paenda gave a spellbinding performance. The staging was the best. The song was touching. I feel frustrated and sad.

I'm very happy though for Macedonia and Albania. I predicted Macedonia to pass but I feared Albania was going to struggle, so I'm very happy to be wrong.

She was singing off-key almost all the time :? And I have never found the song any good to begin with.

Considering how difficult the song was she performed it quite well.

To my ears she wasn't off. It was the only performance this year that actually made me feel emotional. I get the song not being to everyone's taste as it's not exactly following conventions, but I thought of it as an absolutely deserving qualifier. I think her missing is a highway robbery.

Aside from Denmark, there're really no surprise here. I would have liked to see Romania or Austria in her place but we can't have everything.
Now I really wonder who won this semi.

Yeah, I was wondering if "when all the lights are dancing" was actually the first lyric she sings in the chorus; apparently not :p

It actually wasn't Alexandra who flubbed- it was the non-joiking guy (I forget his name haha). He was supposed to say "I see your spirit in the sky" but he accidentally said "I hear you calling me at night". Alexandra responded with the correct lyric: "when Northern lights are dancing", and clearly thought it was funny because he's made the same mistake before. He caught himself mid-mistake here:

I'm really happy with :nl: (duh) :al: and :mk:.
It was rather sad that my vote couldn't help :at:, but to be honest I didn't hold high expectations after her performance.
I was pleasantly surprised by :ch:, of the three bops he is currently obviously in the lead for me.
Apart from :at:, I would have liked to see :ro: in the finals too. I'm not expecting a return for the Wiwi guys in the Romanian jury lol.

Oh look, another Azeri performance with backing vocals from start to finish

I think that Chingiz was ''lipsyncing'' these notes at the end with backing doing the whole job necessary. :D  ;)

She wasn't off key most of the time, but at a few occasions, yes. Just like the bigger part of tonight's contestants. The real problem is that she was often out of breath and it really showed.
I like the studio version anyway and I am glad I could discover her.

i don't think denmark qualifying was even surprising. while i didn't bet on it, i always thought it had a possibility of her stealing someone's spot

reason: i detest the song europe hates me IOTAP

I am mostly very very happy that Joninda made it. What a relief!!!! Also happy Macedonia. She was wonderful. Sad about Austria, though I didn't like her voice tonight tbh. Also happy that Norway made it. About Netherlands and Russia: I like both songs (Russia a bit more), but not the performances that much. Netherlands was too simple and Russis too over-staged.

I think it without a doubt has to be Switzerland or Russia.

Re: ESC United - LIVE from Tel Aviv - Semi-Final 2 family show and LIVE SHOW discussion

BF watched for the first time and his fave was Albania. He told me that was above everything so it might not be surprising after all (he has a very "basic taste" sorry bf) and told me Russia was bad as hell, Sweden was okay but UK was the same song (well no) and The Netherlands take too long to build but Albania is the absolute best. (He made a comment on everything just giving you the first in the odds).

I was mesmerized too by Albania I should say, not winning but a top 10 is reachable I think.
